Role Overview
We are looking for a dynamic and field-oriented Head of Programs to lead the design, execution, and scaling of our educational initiatives. This is a high-impact leadership role that requires deep engagement with field teams, strong program management capabilities, and the ability to build relationships with donors and stakeholders.
The ideal candidate will bring a balance of grassroots experience, team leadership, and program strategy, ensuring that our interventions are effective, scalable, and impactful.

Key Responsibilities
1. Program Design & Implementation
• Lead end-to-end planning and execution of all educational programs
• Ensure high-quality implementation across all field locations
• Develop and refine program models based on field insights
• Conduct regular field visits to stay closely connected with ground realities

2. Team Leadership & Capacity Building
• Manage and mentor program managers, coordinators, and field staff
• Build strong second-line leadership within the program team
• Design and implement training and capacity-building initiatives
• Foster a motivated, accountable, and mission-driven team culture

3. Program Monitoring, Evaluation & Learning (MEL)
• Establish robust monitoring and evaluation frameworks
• Track program outcomes and ensure data-driven decision-making
• Strengthen reporting systems and documentation practices
• Use insights to improve program effectiveness and impact

4. Donor & Stakeholder Engagement
• Support donor engagement through program presentations and field insights
• Contribute to proposal development and reporting
• Ensure timely and high-quality updates to funders
• Represent the organization in external meetings and forums

5. Strategy & Program Growth
• Work with leadership to shape program strategy and expansion plans
• Identify opportunities for scaling and innovation
• Build partnerships with local stakeholders, institutions, and communities

Required Qualifications & Experience
• 8–12 years of experience in the development/NGO sector
• Strong field experience, preferably in education or community development
• Proven track record in program management and team leadership
• Experience in working with donors/CSR partners
• Demonstrated ability to manage multi-location programs

Skills & Competencies
• Strong leadership with a hands-on, field-driven approach
• Excellent communication skills (English required; Hindi/Marathi preferred)
• Ability to work effectively with grassroots communities
• Strong planning, execution, and problem-solving skills
• Data-driven mindset with focus on outcomes

Preferred Profile
• Experience in education-focused NGOs
• Familiarity with Pune/Maharashtra ecosystem
• Prior experience as Program Lead / Senior Program Manager / Head of Programs
