Department: Marketing and Resource Mobilisation

Based in location :New Delhi

Reporting to : Director-Marketing & Resource Mobilisation

Level of Contact with Children: 2 (Sporadic or Occasional contact with children)

The position holder shall be responsible to adhere & work within the ambit of Plan India's Safeguarding & Gender Equality Policies.

SUMMARY OF THE OVERALL JOB
The Creative Lead’s role is to drive the strategy, conceptualisation, and execution of high-impact creative communication – spefically to strengthen Plan India’s fundraising efforts and brand positioning. The role develops research-led campaigns and stakeholder-facing communications for fundraising initiatives and flagship events such as the Impact Awards and International Day of the Girl. It ensures consistency in messaging and brand voice while adhering to Plan India’s Brand Guidelines. The Creative Lead also monitors market trends, donor behaviour, and sector best practices to inform creative strategy, maximise impact, and recommend donation products.

The Creative Lead collaborates with the Marketing and Communications team to translate organisational priorities into clear narratives and visual systems, including concepts, messaging frameworks, and creative assets. The role also oversees the production of the Annual Report and drives digital-first outputs such as social media creative, illustrations for fundraising, infographics, GIFs, and animated videos. All communications are designed to enhance visibility, engagement, and fundraising outcomes.

KEY FUNCTIONS / RESPONSIBILITIES

Strategic Leadership & Brand Positioning
• Partner with the Marketing and Communications team to shape and strengthen Plan India’s brand identity, supporting ongoing rebranding efforts across internal and external platforms.
• Develop and implement creative strategies aligned with organisational goals, with a strong focus on fundraising, donor engagement, and stakeholder-facing communications.
• Ensure consistent application of brand guidelines across all communication outputs.

Creative Direction & Strategy Design
• Lead creative direction for donor-facing communication campaigns and products to ensure clear, compelling messaging.
• Conceive and implement creative concepts, visual systems, and communication frameworks across campaigns and projects.
• Lead end-to-end creative strategy for fundraising campaigns, from insight generation and concept development to execution and optimisation.
• Conceptualise integrated campaigns (digital, on-ground, and multimedia) that drive donor acquisition, engagement, and retention.
• Translate organisational priorities into persuasive narratives and donor-centric communications.

Visual Design & Digital Media
• Lead visual design for donor-facing communications and social media creatives, including graphic designs, illustrations, infographics, and short-form videos, ensuring alignment with the brand’s visual identity.
• Shoot and edit reels and other video content for social media, maintaining consistency with brand standards and creative objectives.
• Design presentation decks and digital templates to support internal and external communications.
• Review website UI/UX designs, suggest improvements based on research insights, and ensure vendor implementation.

Content Development & Publications
• Lead the creation and review of content for Annual Reports, social media creatives, and digital and offline campaigns, including brochures, leaflets, and other collaterals, ensuring compliance with communication guidelines.
• Develop brand-aligned content and guide the structure of the Annual Report.

Website & Digital Platform Ownership
• Lead design and visual strategy for Plan India’s website and all digital platforms.
• Ensure design consistency and alignment with organizational branding and communication goals.
• Guide user experience, functionality, and layout across digital channels.
• Collaborate with developers, designers, and content teams to shape cohesive digital experiences.
• Review and approve design elements to maintain quality, accessibility, and brand standards.

Collaboration & Stakeholder Management
• Collaborate, brainstorm, and strategize with internal teams and external partners on a wide range of creative outputs.
• Work closely with fundraising and leadership teams to ensure alignment on messaging, goals, and campaign impact.
• Manage multiple vendors and agencies, ensuring quality and adherence to brand and technical standards.

Research & Audience Engagement
• Conduct research on market trends, donor behaviour, audience preferences, and sector best practices to inform creative strategy.
• Recommend donation products based on research insights.
• Strengthen brand awareness among Gen Z and other target audiences through curated, research-led digital experiences.

Quality Assurance & Governance
• Review all creative outputs to ensure consistency, accuracy, and adherence to Plan India’s brand guidelines and global identity.
• Maintain high standards of design excellence, innovation, and storytelling across all deliverables.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
• 3-5 years in creative strategy, branding, or communications (preferably NGO/CSR).
• Experience in leading campaigns, fundraising communication, and rebranding initiatives.
• Strong background in visual design, digital media, and content development.
• Exposure to website/UI/UX, vendor management, and multi-channel campaigns.
• Bachelor’s in Design, Mass Communication, Marketing, or related field.
• Master’s or relevant certifications in branding, design, or digital marketing (preferred).
