About the Project
Bonded labour continues to persist in Bihar, where communities—due to poverty, migration, dependence on informal labour, debt, and social factors—are vulnerable to situations of bonded labour. Jan Jagran Sansthan (JJS) is implementing an intervention to address bonded labour in Nawada and Jamui districts.

Position: Aftercare Support Person
Location: Nawada & Jamui Districts, Bihar

Key Responsibilities
• Provide follow-up support to rescued bonded labourers
• Facilitate access to government rehabilitation schemes and entitlements
• Assist beneficiaries in completing documentation (Aadhaar, bank accounts, etc.)
• Provide basic counselling and support to survivors and their families
• Coordinate with government departments for rehabilitation support
• Track and monitor progress of rescued individuals
• Support reintegration of survivors into their communities
• Maintain records and documentation of beneficiary follow-up

Required Skills & Experience
• Experience in aftercare support / rehabilitation of vulnerable individuals
• Understanding of government schemes and entitlement processes
• Basic counselling and interpersonal skills
• Experience in fieldwork, community engagement, and follow-up support
• Good communication and coordination skills

Qualification
• Graduate in Social Work / Social Sciences or a related field
• At least 1 year of experience in aftercare or rehabilitation work

Additional Requirements
• Willingness to relocate and work in Nawada and Jamui districts
• Willingness to travel regularly across villages
• Ability to work closely with field teams and community members
• Commitment to working with vulnerable populations

Role Significance
This role is critical in ensuring that rescued individuals receive necessary support and are able to access rehabilitation services, reducing the risk of re-entry into bonded labour.
