Ashayen Trust is a Bhubaneswar-based not-for-profit organisation dedicated to empowering street-connected and vulnerable children through education, care, and social reintegration. Through our flagship Aama Pathsala Programme, we operate inclusive community learning centers that offer structured academic support, life skills education, and a safe environment for children living in adverse conditions.

Position Summary
We are looking for empathetic and committed Community Center Educators to deliver child-centric, multi-grade education to children from Class 1 to Class 10. The educator will design lesson plans, facilitate co-curricular activities, maintain child records, and coordinate with schools and community members to support children's education and retention. Candidates must be compassionate toward children and patient in handling challenging behaviors.

Key Roles and Responsibilities

A. Teaching and Learning
Deliver engaging and inclusive classes for children from Class 1 to Class 10.

Prepare lesson plans using play-based and experiential methods with innovative TLMs.

Use digital and virtual tools to enhance learning experiences where applicable.

Include life skills, behavior development, and spoken English in classroom activities.

B. Co-Curricular and Enrichment Activities
Organise art, storytelling, games, music, and awareness events regularly.

Facilitate exposure-based and experiential learning opportunities for children.

Blend co-curricular modules into the academic calendar to encourage holistic development.

C. Classroom and Centre Management
Maintain a safe, inclusive, and child-friendly classroom environment.

Take responsibility for the upkeep of learning materials, digital tools, and classroom cleanliness.

Ensure timely and smooth daily operations of the learning center.

D. Child Profile & Data Management
Maintain accurate and updated child baseline data, progress charts, attendance records, and digital reports.

Regularly update individual child profiles to track emotional, academic, and behavioral development.

E. Community & School Coordination
Attend SMC meetings and coordinate with school principals and class teachers.

Help facilitate school re-enrollment, performance tracking, and retention of out-of-school children.

Build strong relationships with parents and community stakeholders to foster a supportive environment for learning.

F. Child Retention & Well-being
Identify at-risk children and take proactive steps to address irregularity, emotional distress, or dropout risks.

Provide emotional support, motivation, and consistent follow-up to encourage regular attendance.

Collaborate with counsellors, field staff, and guardians to ensure holistic development and safety of each child.

Qualifications & Experience
Graduate degree in any discipline (mandatory).

CT/B.Ed qualification preferred. Graduates with relevant experience shall be considered.

At least 1 year of teaching or community-based education experience.

Fluent in Odia and English (spoken and written).

Working knowledge of MS Office, internet, digital tools, and online reporting platforms.

Familiarity with field-based environments and working experience in urban slums.

Work Conditions
Working Hours: 11:00 AM to 7:30 PM

Weekly Holiday: Monday

Candidate should have own Two Wheeler

Remuneration :

Monthly consolidated remuneration will be 12000- 14000 Rupees for Full time based on the qualification and experience. EPF deductions shall be applicable as per standard norms. Monthly consolidated remuneration will be 7000 Rupees for Part time and 5000 Rupees for Internship.
EPF, Travel Allowance will be applicable as per the existing policy of the organization.
