About the Project

The position is part of a climate resilience initiative being implemented in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh. The project focuses on developing and implementing practical solutions to reduce the impact of extreme heat on communities and improve the city's preparedness for heat-related risks.

The initiative involves field-level assessments, identification of suitable heat-mitigation interventions, coordination with local stakeholders, and implementation and monitoring of relevant activities at selected locations.

The selected candidate will support the technical and site-level implementation of assigned project interventions. The role requires regular field visits, technical supervision, quality monitoring, coordination with contractors and workers, and systematic reporting of work progress.

Job Summary

We are seeking a technically qualified and experienced Site Supervisor – Civil Engineering to supervise and monitor site-level activities under a climate resilience and heat-mitigation project in Bhopal.

The candidate will be responsible for site inspections, technical assessments, monitoring the quality of work, coordinating with contractors and workers, maintaining site records, and ensuring that assigned activities are completed according to approved technical specifications and timelines.

This is a full-time, field-based position requiring regular travel to project sites across Bhopal.

Key Responsibilities

1. Site Supervision and Technical Implementation

• Conduct regular site visits to monitor assigned project activities.
• Supervise civil works and other assigned site-level interventions related to heat mitigation and climate resilience.
• Check site conditions, measurements, work quality, and implementation progress.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, layouts, and technical specifications.
• Identify technical issues and deviations and report them to the reporting manager.
• Ensure that work is carried out according to approved designs, specifications, and instructions.

2. Technical Assessment and Quality Monitoring

• Support technical site assessments and document existing site conditions.
• Coordinate with architects, engineers, contractors, and other technical personnel, as required.
• Monitor the quality of materials and workmanship.
• Verify measurements and completed work wherever required.
• Identify implementation gaps and follow up on corrective actions.
• Maintain photographic evidence of site conditions and work progress.

3. Contractor and Field Coordination

• Coordinate with contractors, vendors, skilled workers, and other relevant stakeholders.
• Monitor daily work progress and ensure that activities remain aligned with agreed timelines.
• Identify delays, resource constraints, and site-level challenges and communicate them promptly.
• Follow up on pending work and support timely resolution of technical issues.

4. Documentation and Reporting

• Maintain daily site visit records and progress reports.
• Prepare site inspection notes, measurement records, and photographic documentation.
• Report completed activities, pending work, technical observations, and implementation challenges.
• Maintain accurate records of site-level activities for project monitoring and reporting.

5. Field Travel and Work Requirements

• Undertake regular visits to project sites across Bhopal.
• Travel independently using a personal two-wheeler.
• Coordinate with the project team and provide timely updates from the field.
• Follow applicable site safety procedures and project implementation guidelines.

Eligibility Criteria

• B.Tech / B.E. in Civil Engineering is mandatory.
• Relevant prior experience in civil construction, site supervision, or technical implementation is essential.
• Practical understanding of construction drawings, site measurements, quality control, and work supervision.
• Good coordination, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Basic proficiency in MS Excel and preparation of site reports is preferred.
• Must own a two-wheeler and hold a valid driving licence.
• Must be willing to work full-time in the field across Bhopal.
• Ability to work independently, maintain accurate documentation, and take responsibility for assigned tasks.
