Consultant AI and Digital Technology in Primary Health Care/ Comprehensive Primary Healthcare, NHSRC
National Health Systems Resource Centre (NHSRC) has been set up under the National Health Mission (NHM) as an autonomous registered society, to channelize technical assistance and capacity building support to the states for strengthening the public health system. The NHSRC is also mandated to contribute to health policy / programme design and evaluation. NHSRC intends recruiting Consultants for its Community Processes / Comprehensive Primary HealthCare Division, purely on a contractual basis.
Since its inception in 2006, NHSRC has been a repository of knowledge and a centre of excellence for its agenda. This organization has professional linkages with a plethora of domestic and international bodies involved in the field of Public Health. There have been several personnel who have served with NHSRC and gained invaluable experience enabling them to graduate to next rung of professional ladder. Vast exposure to Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, and its processes is a unique feature of NHSRC.

Working with a transdisciplinary team, you can discover, adapt, co-create and disseminate solutions to multiple challenges related to service delivery systems, universal primary health care, human resources for health, community processes, health financing, quality of care, public health planning and health promotion. This is an opportunity to support health systems strengthening at scale, learn from district and sub district implementation, undertake knowledge translation, and enable realization of the vision of universal health coverage.
The Position reports to Advisor - Community Processes-Comprehensive Primary Healthcare (CP-CPHC) and is on Contractual basis. To begin with Two years and extendable based on the Performance.
Roles & Responsibilities:
Direct support to selected states as allocated, for implementation of Community Processes (CP) and Comprehensive Primary Health Care (CPHC) programme. Key functions include:
Programme Implementation, Capacity Building & Partnerships
• Support the development, adaptation, and strengthening of any digital technology and AI in public health, to states for primary health care and community processes.
• Design public health interventions that are technology based / AI based or Generative AI based.
• Support implementation planning, roll out, review, and course correction of CP CPHC interventions which require technology based in collaboration with state and national stakeholders.
• Collaborate with technical teams to ensure technology solutions are user centric, aligned with public health goals, and adaptable to decentralized state contexts.
• Facilitate integration of digital tools with existing health information systems to improve data quality, timeliness, and utilization.
• Promote capacity building of state and district teams on the effective use of digital tools for CP CPHC implementation and monitoring.
Undertake additional assignments related to CP CPHC as assigned by the Advisor - CP CPHC, in line with programme priorities.
Qualification & Experience: (Regular Courses Only)
i) Essential:
• Medical Graduate (MBBS, BDS /Nursing/ Pharmacy with MD Community Medicine/ MPH/ MBA (Health Management/ Health Administration)/ Post Graduate Diploma in Hospital and Health Management/ MBA (Developmental Studies) degrees with at least 3 (three) years of experience in Public Health/ Community Health and Health Systems, after post-graduation.
• Experience of working in Public Health AI/ Digital Technology implementation.
• More than three-year experience on Digital Health Technology in Private Sector/NGO/Government/Autonomous bodies.
• Excellent data analytical skills, documentation, communication and presentation skills
• Good interpersonal skills
• Excellent oral and written communication skills in English and or Hindi.
ii) Desirable:
• Working knowledge of other major regional languages
• Experience in documentations undertaking research reports.
• Demonstrated ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team environment.
Written Test Condition: If the recruitment process includes a written test, a ratio of 1:5 will be adopted for 1 vacancy top 5 candidates will be considered. In case 2 or more candidates qualify with the same marks, all such candidates will be considered.
Age Limit: 45 Years and below
Work Location: New Delhi; Opportunity to gain hands-on experience of the public health canvas of states and districts.
Travel to states and districts will be involved.
Remuneration Range: Between Rs. 60,000/- to Rs. 1,20,000/- per month
(*Fee offered within the band will be commensurate with qualification and experience.)
Other Benefits: In addition to the remuneration mentioned above, Consultants of NHSRC are entitled to Free Accidental insurance, Subsidized Medical insurance, Mobile bills reimbursement, Laptop reimbursement (As per NHSRC Policy), 30 days Consolidated leave, fully paid Maternity leave (For Female Consultants) as per Government of India policy, performance linked increments, TA/ DA and per diem for on-duty visits.
Duration of Contract: Contract till 31st March 2028 with further extensions of similar duration (subject to satisfactory performance)
