Pragati Path Foundation Seeks an Outreach Worker (Female/Male)

Pragati Path Foundation invites applications for the position of Outreach Worker (Female/Male) under its Targeted Intervention (Migrants) Project, supported by the National AIDS Control Organisation (NACO) and Uttar Pradesh State AIDS Control Society (UPSACS) under the National AIDS Control Programme. The position is based in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh.

Educational Qualification
Candidates should be at least Graduates with good knowledge of the local community and local language.

Experience
• Minimum one year of experience in the social sector or community work.
• Preference will be given to candidates from FSW, MSM, TG, Migrant, and Trucker communities.
• Candidates with experience in outreach, community mobilization, and HIV/AIDS programmes will be preferred.
• High-performing Peer Educators with at least three years of experience and basic reading and writing skills may also be considered for the ORW position.

Knowledge and Skills
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively in small teams and adapt to flexible working conditions.
• Proficiency in data collection, report writing, and case study documentation.
• Willingness to undertake extensive fieldwork, with a minimum of 20 field visit days per month.
• Ability to monitor field activities and provide guidance and support to Peer Educators and community volunteers.

Key Duties and Responsibilities
• Prepare and implement hotspot-wise micro-plans, action plans, and outreach strategies.
• Support implementation of Targeted Intervention programme activities, mapping, and population size estimation exercises.
• Supervise and build the capacity of Peer Educators (PEs) for effective outreach services.
• Conduct regular field visits, monitor service uptake, and ensure timely follow-up of beneficiaries.
• Facilitate crisis response, referrals, counselling linkages, and community mobilization activities.
• Coordinate with stakeholders, service providers, and community leaders for programme support.
• Ensure adequate supply, distribution, and monitoring of condoms, lubricants, IEC materials, and other commodities.
• Maintain outreach records, peer diaries, stock registers, referral records, and project documentation.
• Organize health camps, HIV testing referrals, and other health service linkages for target populations.
• Submit timely reports, provide programme data, and perform other duties assigned by the Project Manager.

About the Organization
Pragati Path Foundation is a non-profit organization established in 2011, working towards gender equality, social justice, community empowerment, women’s rights, reproductive health, livelihood promotion, skill development, and prevention of gender-based violence. Since 2023, the organization has been implementing the Targeted Intervention Project in collaboration with UPSACS in Varanasi district to provide HIV/AIDS prevention, awareness, counselling, referral, and healthcare support services for migrant populations. Following successful implementation during the first phase, the organization is expanding the project and seeking dedicated Outreach Workers to strengthen programme implementation and community engagement.
