Advertisement: Recruitment for TB Nutrition Project in Palghar District
The Foundation for Medical Research (FMR), a Public Trust and a well-recognised national research organisation (SIRO), conducts basic biomedical, translational and public health research in the areas of infectious disease, especially tuberculosis (TB), environmental and community health.
The Foundation invites applications from motivated candidates for a project on TB nutrition. The project is a nutrition intervention project being conducted in tribal blocks of Palghar district, Maharashtra for assessing the effectiveness of the intervention in improving the nutritional and health outcomes of TB patients through clinical, anthropometric, dietary, and biomarker data collection. The project also involves the development and implementation of nutrition education programs to patient families and communities.
1. Site Coordinator – 1 Position
Educational Qualification:
Master’s in Public Health/Nutrition/Social Work (MSW), or related field with a minimum of 3 years of experience working in a Tuberculosis program coordination and conducting field-based research studies. Working knowledge of spoken and written Marathi, knowledge of TB disease and experience in managing teams is essential.
Desirable:
1. Minimim age 32 years and above
2. Experience in coordinating with district health departments.
3. Familiarity with handling survey data, especially electronically collected data
Remuneration: Upto Rs 90,000 per month (commensurate to experience)
Job Description:
• Responsible for day-to-day field activity management in the Palghar region.
• Supervise and coordinate ration distribution, data transfers, and patient identification.
• Liaise with the district officials, TB Facility and health centres.
• Manage, support and train field teams.
• Oversee screening, consenting, data collection, and patient follow-up efforts.
• Ensure timely reporting and communication with project headquarters.
Place of Full-time Posting: Jawahar-Palghar, Maharashtra [Non-negotiable]
Ownership of personal vehicle is essential.
