Job Description- Project Coordinator

About the Organization:
Mahila Housing Sewa Trust (MHT) was founded with the mission of improving the housing, living and working environments of the poor women in informal sector. It works on the intersection of urban development, climate change and habitat improvement for the poor. As of date, it is present in 1000+ slums across various cities of India.

Major Roles and Responsibilities:

• Manage the project of Mahila Housing Trust in Kolkata and ensure that its targets are delivered to the satisfaction of the organisation.
• Support Organization in developing and implementing annual activity plan & targets as per the project plan.
• Develop and manage partnerships that are critical to the organisation and the programme.
• Engage with Governmental organisations important for the development of the MHT programme in Kolkata.
• Support to develop the project reports, the policy inputs and the communications regarding the project.
• Support in fund raising, as and when required.
• Capacity building of the other staff as required.
• Manage & coordinate project under supervision of respective program manager Execute any other task assigned by support team.
• Undertake field visits to support project M & E task and identify gaps and provide solutions.
• Develop/utilize/maintain templates for capturing all project activities.
• Fulfill all requirements related to admin and accounts for implementation of activities.

Position: Full-time position

Location: Kolkata

Qualifications:
• The applicant is expected to have a minimum 3 to 5 years of working experience in a professional environment although candidates an interview.
• Advanced degree like Masters in Development Studies, Masters in Urban Planning, Masters in Social Work, and any other related fields related to urban/development studies is favourable.
• Women candidates would be strongly preferred.

Expected Attributes:

• Microsoft Office is a MUST.
• Should have strong ability to understand and interpret urban issues especially at informal sector.
• Should be able to communicate well through mediums such as presentations and report writing with command of English language as a MUST.
• Speaking and writing abilities in Hindi, Bangla and English, is a MUST.
• Should be able to handle basic management and coordination for carrying out day to day office activities.
• Should be able to understand the grassroots culture of the organisation, along with the technical interventions, respect and nurture it.
• She should be open to travel to Ahmedabad-India when necessary. Most travel will be planned and will be limited. It is also expected that the applicant is committed to serving their contracts and commitments while working at MHT.
• Ability to structure, track and monitor tasks and their progress
• Proven ability to manage people, resources and finance.
• Ability to lison with government to address the issues identified from slum settlement
• Knowhow on administrative and accounts process

Remuneration:
Remuneration will be based on the qualifications & experience of the applicant.
