Role Overview :
Sesame Workshop India Trust is hiring for the role of Manager – Finance (State) in Dehradun, Uttarakhand. The Manager – Finance (State) will be responsible for overseeing financial management, budgeting, compliance, administration, and operational support for programme activities. The role will ensure eIective financial planning, timely reporting, statutory compliance, and eIicient management of administrative systems to support programme implementation.
Key Responsibilities :
Budget Management & Financial Planning :
• Lead preparation, monitoring, and management of programme budgets.
• Track expenditure across budget heads and prepare variance analyses for management review.
• Provide financial inputs for programme planning, procurement, and implementation activities.
• Manage cash flow projections and support timely fund requests and disbursements.
Financial Reporting & Compliance :
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
• Ensure all expenditures are supported by appropriate documentation and approvals.
• Maintain complete financial records and documentation for audit readiness.
• Support internal and external financial reviews and audits.
Internal Controls & Governance:
• Implement and monitor financial control systems and approval processes.
• Manage petty cash, reconciliations, and financial reporting requirements.
• Oversee procurement processes, vendor onboarding, purchase documentation, and payment processing.
• Monitor advances issued to staI and vendors and ensure timely settlement.
Field Finance Management :
• Provide financial oversight for district and field operations.
• Review travel claims, operational expenditures, and field-level financial documentation.
• Support field teams on financial procedures, documentation standards, and reporting requirements.
• Coordinate with programme teams to ensure financial compliance across locations.
Statutory & Regulatory Compliance :
• Ensure compliance with applicable financial, taxation, and regulatory requirements.
• Coordinate with auditors, consultants, and relevant stakeholders on compliance matters.
• Maintain fixed asset registers and related documentation.
• Support organisational compliance and reporting requirements.
OHice Administration & Operations :
• Oversee day-to-day administration of the state oIice.
• Manage oIice facilities, utilities, leases, service contracts, and vendor relationships.
• Maintain records of oIice assets, equipment, and consumables.
• Coordinate procurement of operational supplies and services.
• Manage travel logistics, accommodation arrangements, and related documentation.
• Support onboarding and administrative processes for programme personnel.
• Maintain programme records, contracts, agreements, and oIicial documentation.
• Support logistics and administration for meetings, trainings, workshops, and programme events.
Qualifications :
Essential :
• Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Professional qualifications in Finance, Accounting, or Business Management will be preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English and Hindi.
Experience :
• Minimum 5–7 years of experience in finance, accounting, administration, or operations management.
• Experience managing programme budgets, financial reporting, and compliance requirements.
• Experience supporting audits and financial reviews.
• Experience working in multi-location or field-based programmes preferred.
• Experience in procurement, vendor management, oIice administration, and operations coordination will be an advantage.
Key Skills & Competencies :
• Strong financial planning, budgeting, and analytical skills.
• Advanced proficiency in MS Excel and financial management tools.
• Working knowledge of accounting software such as Tally, QuickBooks, or equivalent platforms.
• Strong understanding of taxation, statutory compliance, and financial controls.
• Strong organisational, coordination, and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to manage finance, administration, and operations functions simultaneously.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Willingness to travel as required.
