Job Summary:
The Program Manager will support the planning, coordination, and monitoring of project activities across project locations to ensure timely and quality implementation. The position will work closely with district teams, government stakeholders, and partners to achieve project goals while ensuring effective team coordination, budget tracking, reporting, documentation, and compliance with organizational and donor guidelines.
Essential Requirement
• Master’s degree in Public Health, Public Health Nutrition, Nutrition, Social Sciences, or a related field.
• 3–5 years of progressive experience in the health and nutrition sector, with demonstrated experience in planning, coordination, and management of programs related to maternal, child, and adolescent health and nutrition.
• Good understanding of national health and nutrition programs, policies, and frameworks, with the ability to apply gender-sensitive and rights-based approaches in program implementation.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills in both Hindi and English, including report writing and documentation.
• Experience in project monitoring, data management, analysis, documentation, and reporting, with the ability to support evidence-based program decision-making.
• Proficiency in MS Office applications, particularly Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
• Strong coordination, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work effectively with field teams and government counterparts.
• Willingness to undertake regular travel to project locations for monitoring, review, and supportive supervision.
Key Responsibilities
• Provide regular support and guidance to district teams for effective implementation of project activities as per approved work plans and timelines.
• Coordinate with district teams to track progress of community-based interventions, address implementation challenges, and ensure adherence to project guidelines and budgets.
• Conduct periodic field visits to monitor project activities, provide supportive supervision and mentoring, and ensure quality standards are maintained across implementation sites.
• Compile and review program data and field reports received from districts, identify gaps, and support timely corrective actions.
• Facilitate communication between the head office and field teams to ensure smooth project implementation and achievement of project objectives.
Team Leadership & HR Supervision
• Support the recruitment, onboarding, and capacity building of project staff in coordination with HR and project leadership.
• Provide technical guidance and mentoring to district teams to ensure effective implementation of project activities and achievement of project targets.
• Facilitate coordination among program, monitoring and evaluation, finance, and field teams to ensure smooth project execution and timely resolution of implementation challenges.
• Support performance monitoring of field teams and provide feedback to strengthen program delivery and quality.
Financial & Operational Oversight
• Monitor project expenditures against approved budgets and support districts in effective utilization of resources.
• Coordinate with finance and procurement teams to facilitate timely procurement, resource allocation, and operational support for project activities.
• Review financial and programmatic reports from districts and ensure compliance with organizational and donor requirements.
• Support project planning, budgeting, and tracking processes to ensure timely implementation of activities and achievement of project milestones.
Stakeholder Engagement & Advocacy
• Support engagement with government departments, development partners, donors, and civil society organizations to facilitate effective project implementation and alignment with program objectives.
• Build and maintain positive working relationships with key stakeholders, including government counterparts, technical partners, and community-based organizations.
• Coordinate with district teams to strengthen collaboration with local authorities and support the integration of project activities within existing government systems and programs.
• Represent the organization in relevant meetings, workshops, and review forums, and contribute to discussions related to project priorities and outcomes.
• Facilitate partnerships and collaborative initiatives within the scope of the project to enhance program reach, effectiveness, and sustainability.
• Support advocacy efforts by documenting program learnings, sharing evidence, and promoting project objectives with relevant stakeholders.
Monitoring, Reporting & Compliance
• Compile, review, and submit periodic program reports (monthly, quarterly, and annual) and ensure timely updating of project MIS and reporting systems.
• Analyse program data and reports received from field teams to track progress, identify gaps, and support informed decision-making.
• Document best practices, case studies, success stories, and key learnings to support organizational knowledge management and donor reporting.
• Monitor compliance with organizational policies, donor requirements, and project guidelines, and support timely implementation of corrective actions where required.
• Coordinate with district teams to ensure timely, accurate, and high-quality submission of programmatic and financial reports.
• Maintain project documentation and records to support audits, reviews, assessments, and reporting requirements.
• Undertake any other responsibilities assigned by the Reporting Manager in line with project and organizational needs.
Skills
• Strong coordination and team management skills, with the ability to effectively support and guide district and field teams.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in Hindi and English, including report writing, documentation, and presentation skills.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with government officials, partners, and community stakeholders.
• Good analytical and problem-solving abilities, with experience in reviewing program data and identifying actionable insights.
• Proficiency in MS Office applications, particularly Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and commitment to timely delivery of outputs.
• Willingness to undertake regular travel to project districts and field locations for monitoring, review, and coordination purposes.
The Program Manager’s salary would range between INR 40000/- to 45000/- per month, depending on the experience.
