About Calcutta Foundation
Calcutta Foundation, through its flagship program Apni Kutir, aims to support women at every stage of their journey towards financial independence through three core verticals: skilling & literacy, individual development, and community building. With 24 centres currently operating across West Bengal, Rajasthan, Bihar, Maharashtra, and Chhattisgarh, the Foundation provides skill development training, including tailoring, beauty and wellness, digital literacy, and life skills, to young girls and women. Our holistic, 360-degree approach ensures women receive not just skills but also guidance, confidence, and emotional support to build sustainable livelihoods.

Role Overview
The Centre Coordinator cum Mobilizer is responsible for managing the daily operations of the Apni Kutir Centre and maintaining accurate documentation, records, reports, and administrative processes. The role ensures smooth centre functioning, proper data management, and timely reporting while supporting program implementation and compliance requirements.

The Community Liaison Officer / Mobilizer is the bridge between the Apni Kutir centre and the women and families it serves. This role is at the heart of our community outreach — identifying and enrolling women into the programme, building trust with households and local leaders, and ensuring that the centre remains a well-known and respected resource in the neighbourhood. The Mobilizer also plays a key role in participant retention by staying connected to students throughout their training journey and helping them navigate any barriers to continued attendance.


Key Responsibilities
Centre Management & Coordination
1. Oversee the daily operations of the Apni Kutir centre, ensuring a safe, welcoming, and productive environment for all participants.
2. Coordinate schedules across all training programmes and trainers, ensuring timely and efficient delivery.
3. Maintain accurate attendance registers, student records, and training documentation.
4. Liaise with the central team to ensure compliance with programme guidelines, timelines, and reporting requirements.
5. Manage centre inventory, maintenance needs, and administrative tasks.
6. Support community mobilization efforts to drive enrolment and sustained participation.
7. Serve as the primary point of contact for students, families, trainers, and visiting stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
Community Outreach & Enrolment
1. Conduct door-to-door outreach and community mapping to identify women and girls who would benefit from Apni Kutir's training programmes.
2. Organize information sessions, community meetings, and awareness events to promote the centre and its offerings to target communities.
3. Build and maintain relationships with community leaders, panchayat members, local influencers, SHGs, and women's collectives to facilitate referrals and sustained engagement.
4. Drive enrolment across all training verticals — tailoring, beauty, mehendi, digital literacy, and other skills — ensuring batch targets are met.


Key Requirements
1. Proficiency in Bengali and English (spoken and written) is essential; working knowledge of Hindi and basic written English is required.
2. Strong command of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and general computer usage and documentation ability on Google Workspace.
3. Ability to teach digital skills to absolute beginners with patience and clarity.
4. Good organizational and administrative skills with attention to detail.
5. Warm, community-oriented approach with the ability to build trust with women and families and counsel and mentor them as they begin their journeys to earn.
6. Ability to handle multiple responsibilities simultaneously and meet reporting deadlines.

Qualifications
1. Bachelor's degree in any discipline; a background or training in Computer Applications is required. Or demonstrated knowledge of computer applications.
2. 1-3 years of experience in training, coordination, or community-facing roles.
3. Prior experience working with NGOs or women's development programmes is an advantage.
