Reconciliation Coordinator

Key Roles and Responsibilities
1. Programme Management and Coordination
Ensure all reconciliation initiatives reflect the vision, mission, spiritual values, and reconciliation principles of JRS.
Stay updated on JRS peacebuilding and reconciliation policies, methodologies, and international standards.
Support the Project Director in implementing reconciliation activities according to approved project proposals.
Assess the needs of refugees and conflict-affected communities and identify opportunities for new reconciliation initiatives.
Provide recommendations to the Project Director, Regional Programmes Manager, and Regional Director for programme improvement.
Conduct regular programme reviews to promote learning, adaptive management, and continuous improvement.
Guide project teams in using JRS International programme templates, monitoring tools, and reporting formats.
Ensure proper documentation and timely submission of reconciliation-related reports and records.
Keep the Project Director informed of programme progress, achievements, challenges, and risks.
Maintain flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and travel as required.

2. Technical Support and Capacity Building
Provide technical guidance, mentoring, and accompaniment to project teams implementing reconciliation programmes.
Facilitate team meetings that encourage shared learning, reflection, collaboration, and problem-solving.
Strengthen the capacity of project staff in reconciliation methodologies and best practices.
Participate in JRS International reconciliation networks, meetings, workshops, and training programmes.
Share knowledge, lessons learned, and emerging best practices with project teams and regional leadership.

3. Staff Care and Human Resource Coordination
Support staff involved in reconciliation projects through coaching, encouragement, and professional guidance.
Coordinate with the Project Director and Regional HR to ensure:
Employment contracts are signed.
Code of Conduct is acknowledged and signed.
Staff comply with organizational policies.
Promote teamwork, collaboration, and positive working relationships across project teams.

4. Administration and Financial Management
Work closely with the Project Director and Finance team in administering project finances related to reconciliation activities.
Monitor project expenditures against approved budgets.
Ensure monthly activity and financial reports are submitted accurately and on time.
Support financial documentation required for donor compliance and audits.

5. Procurement and Logistics
Identify programme material and equipment requirements.
Prepare and submit procurement requisitions in a timely manner.
Coordinate with the Logistics Officer and Finance team to ensure timely procurement and delivery of resources.
Monitor appropriate utilization of project resources and assets.

6. Communication and Reporting
Maintain regular communication with:
Project Director
Regional Programmes Manager
Regional Director
HR Team
Programme Staff

Report significant programme developments, achievements, challenges, and risks.
Participate in regular coordination meetings.

Contribute to the preparation of:
Monthly Reports
Quarterly Reports
Six-Month Reports
Annual Reports
Donor Reports

7. Networking and Representation
Represent JRS in reconciliation-related meetings, workshops, and forums as delegated.
Build relationships with internal and external stakeholders supporting reconciliation efforts.
Promote collaboration and knowledge sharing across programmes.
Person Specification

Education
Bachelor's degree in Peace and Conflict Studies, Social Work, International Development, Theology, Humanitarian Studies, Psychology, Sociology, Political Science, or a related field.
Master's degree is desirable.

Experience
Minimum 3–5 years of experience managing reconciliation, peacebuilding, humanitarian, or community development programmes.
Experience working with refugees, displaced persons, or conflict-affected communities is highly desirable.
Experience coordinating multi-location programmes and working with multicultural teams.
