Jeevan Lok Nirman Sansthan has been working with poor and marginalized people in India since 2017. We are aspired to expand our activities to all States, UTs, reaching out to the most marginalized and excluded groups in India as per the aspirational demands of NITI Aayog, Government of India from time to time.
We work as grassroots based organization, helping marginalized communities to enhance their capacities to make local government departments accountable and citizen friendly and to build their own forums, and community-based organizations and people's movements to collectively address poverty, inequality and injustice.
Our focus is on the rights of India's most marginalized communities:
Dalit and indigenous people, rural and urban poor, women, children and minorities. These groups face an acute lack of access to and control over resources, services, and institutions and our efforts are to equip them with knowledge about their rights and develop capacities in them to demand their constitutional rights.
We are highly ambitious to pay special attention to those in vulnerable situations, such as people living with chronic hunger; people with disabilities; migrant and bonded workers; children who are out of school; city-dwellers without a home; and people whose land or livelihood is under threat. We will also work with women, men, girls and boys who have been trafficked, displaced, or hit by natural and human-made disaster.
Position Overview:
The Associate Field Coordinator- Open School Education spends the majority of his or her time providing direct support to the dropout children, adolescents, and youth and motivates them to get in their admission to NIOS/ State Open Schooling Institution to obtain the degree of Secondary / Senior Secondary Board Examinations purely in self-finance mode.
The position will be field-based and will involve frequent travel to the areas of work and home visits. Telephonic feedback and follow-ups on daily/weekly or monthly basis would be the mandatory task.
The position holder will establish and maintain strong, respectful relationships with village leaders (Sarpanchs), traditional community elders, youth groups, and women's self-help groups (SHGs).
The position holder will organize and facilitate village meetings, focus group discussions, and social awareness campaigns to mobilize community members for apply for Secondary/ Senior Secondary Board Exams related activities.
The position holder must possess a valid two-wheeler license and a personal vehicle, with a willingness to travel extensively to remote rural villages.
Qualifications Required:
• Graduation degree from any institute.
• 0-2 years of relevant work experience in areas of education and community mobilization.
• Good interpersonal skills and a team-maker.
• Basic computer skills.
• Strong organizational and planning skills include the ability to monitor progress of program implementation.
• Ability to juggle multiple priorities simultaneously and take initiative.
• Prior success working closely and building relationships with diverse groups of people.
• Fluency in local language spoken by girls and boys.
Preferred:
• Prior experience of living and/ working in rural and semi urban areas.
• Prior experience of working closely with the community and schoolteachers.
