Job Purpose: The Field Officer (Community Health) will support the planning, implementation, and monitoring of community health programs to improve the well-being of women, children, and adolescents in rural areas. The role includes assisting in organizing OPD and mobile health camps, implementing targeted interventions, conducting health awareness sessions, supporting specialized health camps, supervising data collection for program documentation, and managing beneficiary contributions. The Field Officer will work closely with volunteers, community members, and government health staff to ensure effective delivery service and improved health outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
• Support in Health OPD & Mobile Health Camps: Assist in organizing weekly health clinics, mobile health camps, and vaccination camps, including patient registration, medicine distribution, and counselling.
• Adolescent health: Implement interventions to reduce anemia among adolescent girls through Kishori Clubs by conducting health education sessions, promoting nutrition improvement, and empowering girls with knowledge.
• Maternal and Child Health: Assist in reducing child and maternal mortality by facilitating antenatal check-ups, vaccinations, nutritional support for mothers and children, and tracking the growth and weight of SAM (Severely Acute Malnourished) children.
• Health Awareness Sessions: Conduct and support awareness sessions, assist in organizing training, events, and capacity-building programs for volunteers to improve service delivery.
• Data Collection & Documentation: Assist in data collection, surveys, and documentation of health indicators. Support preparation of Monthly Progress Reports (MPRs) and other reports.
• Support Specialized Camps: Assist in organizing cataract eye camps and other targeted health camps as required.
• Supervision & Field Support: Provide technical guidance to volunteers for health-related activities. Support monitoring of field activities and feedback collection from beneficiaries.
Qualifications & Experience:
• Bachelors in Social Work
• 5–10 years of experience in community-based health programs preferred.
Skills & Competencies:
• Experience in preventive healthcare programs. Practical understanding of MCH, RCH, immunization, nutrition, and public health programs.
• Good communication and counselling skills
• Experience in community mobilization and health education
• Basic data management and reporting skills
• Strong rapport-building skills within the community.
• Ability to manage manpower and coordinate with government staff.
• Patience, empathy, and commitment to community health.
