About VHAI
Voluntary Health Association of India (VHAI) is a federation of 24 State Voluntary Health Associations, linking over 4,000 health and development organizations and grassroots-level community health programmes. For over five decades, VHAI has been pursuing its vision of “Making Health and Development a Reality for the People of India” by advocating people-centred policies, promoting dynamic health planning, and supporting participatory development initiatives at National and State level.
The position of Manager-Programmes and Partnerhips offers an opportunity to lead, implement, and oversee VHAI’s strategic public health and development initiatives. The incumbent will play a pivotal role in driving programme excellence, managing cross-functional teams, and advocacy initiatives, and fostering effective partnerships with government agencies, donors, State associations, and member organizations. This strategic role includes responsibility for programme planning, resource mobilization, and monitoring initiatives at both national and field levels.
Key Qualifications, Skills, and Experience
• Educational Qualification: Postgraduate degree in Public Health/Social Work/ Social Sciences/Management/Rural Development or related disciplines.
• Experience: At least 7-10 years of past experience in programme management and institutional resources mobilization within the public health, development or non-profit sector. Demonstrated experience in managing multi-state or national programmes and working with government departments, civil society organizations, donor agencies, and corporate partners.
• Programme Leadership: Proven ability to design, implement, monitor, and scale public health or development programmes at national or multi-state levels.
• Capacity Building: Experience in strengthening the capacities of State teams, member organizations and partner institutions through training, mentoring, and institutional support.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Demonstrated capacity to engage senior government officials, donors, NGOs, and sector experts.
• Resource Mobilization: Proven track record of securing funding from Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives, national and international donor agencies, foundations, trusts and philanthropic organizations. Proven experience in developing high-quality concept notes, grant proposals, donor presentationis and partnership agreements.
• Communication, Social Media & Public Outreach: Exceptional writing, oral, and presentation skills; experience in overseeing social media platforms, digital content, and translating research and programme insights into accessible communication tools for diverse audiences.
• Team Leadership & Management: Experience of managing and mentoring diverse teams, and coordinating cross-functional initiatives.
• Flexibility: Willingness to travel to states as required. The candidate should be self-motivated, self-driven, and capable of working independently while effectively leading diverse teams and multi-stakeholder initiatives.
