Background
Basera Samajik Sansthan (BSS) is a community-based non-profit organization established in 2006, working to promote the rights, dignity, health, and socio-economic empowerment of transgender persons, LGBTQIA+ communities, and other marginalized populations through community-led interventions, advocacy, social protection, health, and livelihood programmes.
The SAMARTHYA Project, supported by the Azim Premji Foundation, aims to strengthen community leadership, improve access to health and social protection services, and enhance sustainable livelihood opportunities for transgender and gender-diverse communities in Gautam Buddha Nagar and Ghaziabad districts of Uttar Pradesh. The project follows a rights-based and community-led approach by strengthening institutional linkages, improving access to government welfare schemes, promoting livelihoods, and enhancing community participation.
Basera Samajik Sansthan invites applications from qualified, motivated, and committed professionals for the position of Project Coordinator.

Roles and Responsibilities
The Project Coordinator will be responsible for the overall planning, implementation, coordination, monitoring, and reporting of the SAMARTHYA Project.
Key responsibilities include:
Lead the implementation of project activities in accordance with approved work plans and timelines.
Coordinate with government departments, district administration, healthcare institutions, community-based organizations, and other stakeholders.
Supervise, mentor, and support project staff to ensure quality programme implementation.
Prepare monthly work plans and monitor project progress against approved targets.
Ensure timely documentation, beneficiary records, case studies, and project MIS.
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual narrative reports and support donor reporting requirements.
Conduct regular supportive monitoring visits across Gautam Buddha Nagar and Ghaziabad districts.
Organize stakeholder meetings, community consultations, advocacy initiatives, and capacity-building programmes.
Ensure compliance with organizational policies, donor guidelines, and statutory requirements.
Represent the organization in coordination meetings and perform other responsibilities assigned by the Project Director.

Qualification & Experience
Master's Degree in Social Work (MSW), Sociology, Public Health, Development Studies, or a related discipline.
Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in the NGO/development sector.
Demonstrated experience in project coordination, stakeholder engagement, documentation, reporting, and team supervision.
Experience of working with transgender communities, LGBTQIA+ populations, health, livelihoods, or social protection programmes will be an added advantage.
Strong communication and report-writing skills in Hindi and English.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and digital reporting systems.
Willingness to travel regularly within Gautam Buddha Nagar and Ghaziabad.

Preference
Preference will be given to candidates from the Transgender Community.
For deserving candidates from the transgender community with relevant work experience, leadership skills, and community engagement, educational qualifications may be relaxed as per the organization's recruitment policy.

Salary & Benefits
Salary: 24,000/- per month
Travel Allowance: 1,200/- per month
Communication Allowance: 350/- per month
PF, ESI, and other statutory benefits as per applicable organizational policy.

Contract Period: July 2026 to 28 February 2029 (subject to continuation of project funding and satisfactory performance).
