Local Economic Development Society (LEDS) is a non-governmental organization based at Kochi, Kerala. LEDS is dedicated to promoting sustainable livelihoods, entrepreneurship, and inclusive economic development through innovative programmes implemented in partnership with Government agencies and other development organizations.

LEDS invites applications from qualified and motivated candidates for the position of Sales Officer for a Government-funded project.

Position Summary

The Sales Officer will be responsible for developing and strengthening the retail market for a Government brand by building and servicing a network of retail outlets within the assigned territory. The role is primarily field-based and involves regular visits to retail stores, supermarkets, and other sales outlets to expand market reach, strengthen retailer relationships, and achieve sales targets.

The position is headquartered at Kochi and requires travel to project locations as part of official duties.

Key Responsibilities
1) Conduct regular field visits to identify and enrol retail outlets, supermarkets, and other sales points for the Government brand.
2) Develop and expand the retail network by onboarding new retailers within the assigned territory.
3) Build and maintain strong working relationships with retailers to ensure regular stocking, display, and sale of the Government brand.
4) Visit existing retail outlets regularly to monitor product availability, address retailer concerns, and strengthen business relationships.
5) Achieve assigned targets for retailer enrolment, market coverage, and sales.
6) Identify opportunities to improve product visibility and increase sales across retail outlets.
7) Collect market intelligence on customer preferences, competitor activities, and retailer requirements, and submit regular feedback to the Team Leader.
8) Maintain accurate records of retailer visits, sales activities, and market performance, and submit periodic reports.
9) Coordinate with the Team Leader and project staff to support effective implementation of project activities.
10) Perform any other field-related responsibilities assigned by the Team Leader.

Eligibility Criteria
Essential Qualifications
MBA/ Bachelor's Degree in any discipline from a recognized university.
1)Minimum three (3) years of sales experience in the FMCG industry.
2) Proven experience in retail market development, retailer servicing, and field sales.
3) Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
4) Working knowledge of MS Office applications.
5) Fluency in Malayalam and English.

Preferred
Familiarity with the retail market in Kerala.

Remuneration
Consolidated Salary: 35,000 per month.
Travel expenses and other eligible allowances will be provided as per project norms.
