CTC: 26,000/- per month

About the Project
Udaan Education Project is a remedial education initiative supporting children from vulnerable communities in the Sundarbans who are at high risk of dropping out of school. Most of these children are first-generation learners, with little or no academic guidance at home, which often leads to low performance in school. Udaan’s Remedial Education Centres provide child-friendly learning materials, engaging teaching tools, and an encouraging environment to help them strengthen their foundational skills and continue their education journey.

Position Overview
We are looking for a passionate and dynamic Person who leads and monitor the Education & Child Protection Programs. The Programme Officer will be responsible for supervising the Education (Udaan) Program while ensuring that all child safeguarding concerns are identified, documented, managed, and followed up in line with organizational child protection policies and referral protocols. The position will provide technical guidance to the educators, oversee case management processes, coordinate with government departments and relevant stakeholders, and ensure timely support and protection for vulnerable children.

Key Responsibilities
1.Education Program Supervision
• Supervise the implementation of the “Udaan” Education Program across assigned locations.
• Ensure quality teaching-learning processes through regular monitoring, mentoring, and capacity building of educators.
• Conduct field visits, classroom observations, and provide constructive feedback to the education team.
• Maintain program quality standards and support timely reporting.
2. Child Safeguarding & Case Management
• Identify, assess, and manage child protection and safeguarding cases in accordance with organizational policies and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
• Ensure timely documentation, risk assessment, case planning, follow-up, and case closure.
• Maintain confidential case records and case management databases.
• Monitor the progress of each case and ensure appropriate support services are provided.
• Provide technical guidance to field staff on child safeguarding concerns and referral pathways.
3. Coordination & Stakeholder Engagement
• Liaise and coordinate with District Child Protection Unit (DCPU), Child Welfare Committee (CWC), Childline/Helpline, Police, schools, CDPO, BMOH, Panchayats, and other relevant stakeholders.
• Facilitate referrals and ensure regular follow-up with concerned departments for effective case resolution.
• Represent the organization in child protection coordination meetings and networking forums.
• Build strong partnerships with community institutions and local authorities to strengthen child protection mechanisms.
4. Capacity Building & Supervision
• Train and mentor teachers (volunteers), field facilitators, Peer Leader on child safeguarding principles, case identification, reporting mechanisms, and referral systems.
• Ensure compliance with organizational Child Safeguarding Policy by all staff and volunteers.
• Support the development of safeguarding awareness materials and community sessions.
5. Documentation, Monitoring & Reporting
• Prepare timely case reports, monthly progress reports, and program updates.
• Maintain accurate documentation and ensure confidentiality of all safeguarding information.
• Track case progress and generate data for monitoring and donor reporting.
• Support program planning, review meetings, and learning documentation.

Required Qualifications
• Masters in Sociology, Psychology, Education, Child Development, or any relevant discipline.
• Candidates with a diploma or certification in Child Protection, Child Safeguarding, Education, Counselling, Case Management, or related fields will be preferred.
Experience & Required Skills
• Minimum 2–3 years of relevant experience in child protection, child safeguarding, education, or community development programs.
• Proven experience in handling child protection cases and case management.
• Experience in coordinating with government departments and child protection stakeholders.
• Experience in supervising field teams and conducting capacity-building sessions is desirable.
• Experience in education program management, preferably in rural or remedial education settings.
• Strong knowledge of Child Safeguarding and Child Protection principles.
• Practical experience in case management, documentation, and referral mechanism.
• Willingness to travel extensively to remote areas of the Sundarbans.
• Excellent communication and reporting abilities.
