About the Organization
Nari Gunjan (Women’s Voice), founded in 1987 by Padmashree awardee Sudha Varghese, is a Patna-based non-profit working extensively with the Musahar community. The organization focuses on women’s empowerment, education, and health. In collaboration with international partners, Nari Gunjan is implementing innovative programmes to mainstream out-of-school children and strengthen community development.

Role Purpose
The Community Mobilizer will engage directly with marginalized families to promote education, health, and livelihood initiatives. The role involves mobilizing children, supporting teachers and health staff, facilitating access to government schemes, and strengthening community ownership.

Key Responsibilities
Mobilize children from Musahar/Mahadalit families to enrol in ASK/KK centres.
Encourage participation in CHC services and skill development programmes.
Conduct door-to-door outreach, awareness campaigns, and mothers’ meetings.
Monitor daily activities at centres (education, nutrition, health, hygiene).
Support teachers and ICT staff in learning activities and documentation.
Facilitate access to government schemes (education, health, nutrition, livelihood).
Organize cleanliness drives, adolescent empowerment sessions, and livelihood initiatives.
Document success stories and share updates with the Block Coordinator.

Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Social Work, Public Health, or related field (preferred).
2–4 years of experience in community mobilization, education, health outreach, or grassroots development.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills for engaging marginalized communities.
Familiarity with Bihar government schemes and entitlements.
Basic MS Office skills; fluency in Hindi and local dialects (English preferred).

Performance Indicators
Number of children enrolled in ASK/KK centres.
Participation in CHC services and skill programmes.
Families accessing government entitlements.
Attendance and retention rates across centres.
Number of awareness workshops, mothers’ meetings, and cleanliness drives conducted.
