Position: Program Officer
Project Background
BOSCO Refugee Assistance Project is implemented by BOSCO Delhi in partnership with United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) catering to urban refugees and asylum seekers under the mandate of UNHCR from countries like Afghanistan, Myanmar, Somalia and other Nationals from Sudan, Eritrea, DRC, Iran, Iraq, and Palestine etc. The project provides support to refugees and asylum seekers in the field of Livelihood; Psychosocial Support; Community Mobilization; Youth Initiatives and Community Campaigns; Prevention and Response to Sexual and Gender-Based Violence, Digital Higher Education initiatives and DAFI scholarship.
Job Description
The Program Officer shall primarily be responsible for providing support with regard to the implementation of the project activities and to coordinate with other BOSCO teams to provide services to the refugees and asylum seekers of all nationalities registered with UNHCR within Delhi-NCR. The staff is required to perform the assigned duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with the BOSCO’s core values of professionalism, integrity and respect for diversity. The staff would conduct and report the project activities and would also be required to update all the records and data maintained in the project along with active participation in various activities and programs organized for the refugees and asylum seekers.
Key Deliverables:
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide counselling regarding the services of the project to the refugees and asylum seekers
- Plan and execute an intervention for assisting the refugees and asylum seekers with the services
- Conduct awareness, life skill, capacity building sessions/trainings/ meetings for refugees and asylum seekers to promote their welfare and development
- Documentation, report writing, data entry, data maintenance of the beneficiaries for the records
- Conduct home visits/community visits/ field visits for assessment and follow ups
- Support day-to-day administrative activities of the centre
- Organize and conduct meetings and programs in the community with community leaders, representatives and members to promote community engagement
- Establish linkages with other organizations and agencies for collaborations
- Engage actively in various activities/programs organized at the centre or on the field
Qualification:
Master degree in Social Work (MSW) or Sociology from regular college.
Experience:
Minimum one year experience in the development sector. Freshers can also apply (only if Masters is complete)
Skills and Competencies:
- Fluency in English and Hindi
- Proficient computer skills and Microsoft Office Suite
- Positive attitude and readiness to work with a diverse group/setting
- Willingness and ability to travel for field visits/ community visits/ home visits
- Good interpersonal skills and communication with all levels of management
- Good networking abilities with flair for building long-term partnerships

Remuneration: The selected candidate shall be paid a consolidated amount based on qualification and experience
Duration: The selected candidate will be hired for a fixed term contract period i.e. till 31st December 2026.
