About the Organization
Bantra St. Thomas Home Welfare Society (BSTHWS) is a non-profit organization dedicated to improving the health and well-being of vulnerable communities through quality healthcare, education, and social welfare initiatives. We are seeking a compassionate and motivated Field Counsellor to support our Tuberculosis (TB) Project by providing counselling, patient support, and community outreach services.

Key Responsibilities
• Conduct home visits to TB patients and their families for counselling, follow-up, and treatment support.
• Educate patients and caregivers about tuberculosis, its transmission, prevention, treatment, nutrition, and infection control practices.
• Motivate patients to adhere to prescribed TB treatment and help reduce treatment interruptions and loss to follow-up.
• Provide psychosocial counselling to patients and family members to address stigma, fear, and emotional challenges related to TB.
• Identify treatment barriers and work with healthcare providers to ensure timely intervention.
• Coordinate with government health facilities, DOTS centres, community health workers, and other stakeholders for patient care and referrals.
• Maintain accurate patient records, counselling notes, home visit reports, and project documentation.
• Assist in contact tracing, patient follow-up, and community awareness activities as per project requirements.
• Conduct community awareness sessions on TB symptoms, early diagnosis, treatment adherence, and available government services.
• Support project monitoring, data collection, and reporting activities.
• Ensure confidentiality, dignity, and ethical treatment of all beneficiaries.
• Perform any other responsibilities assigned by the Project Coordinator or Management.

Eligibility
• Bachelor's degree in Social Work (BSW), Master's degree in Social Work (MSW), Sociology, Public Health, or a related field.
• Minimum 1 year of experience in counselling, public health, community outreach, or NGO projects. Experience in TB, HIV, or other public health programs is preferred.
• Fresher’s with relevant internships or fieldwork experience may also apply.
Required Skills
• Strong counselling and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to work empathetically with vulnerable populations.
• Good knowledge of community mobilization and patient follow-up.
• Basic understanding of tuberculosis and public health programs (training will be provided if required).
• Good documentation and reporting skills.
• Fluency in Bengali and Hindi is essential. Knowledge of English is desirable.
• Willingness to travel extensively within the assigned project area.

Salary & Benefits
• The Consolidated salary will be Rs. 25,110/-.
• Travel reimbursement will be provided according to organizational policy.
