II. Organizational Context

Background and Context

The United Nations Entity for Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women (UN Women), grounded in the vision of equality enshrined in the Charter of the United Nations, works for the elimination of discrimination against women and girls; the empowerment of women; and the achievement of equality for all women and girls. UN Women, through its Strategic Plan 2022-2025, identified four impact areas through which the organization strives to achieve gender equality and women’s empowerment:

The UN Women Country Office (CO) is based in Delhi, India and works alongside over 20 other UN agencies. The India CO is undertaking a Country Portfolio Evaluation and requires one national consultant to support the conduct of this evaluation.
