JOB DESCRIPTION
 
The Adventist Development and Relief Agency (ADRA) India, is an independent humanitarian and development agency, engaging in sustainable development and disaster response programs for economically deprived and socially marginalized people in India. ADRA India is a part of the ADRA global network (www.adra.org), of humanitarian and development organisation. ADRA’s nine global impact areas include Livelihood, agriculture, Child welfare, Water, Sanitation & Hygiene, Community Health, Disaster Response, Economic Growth, Hunger & Nutrition, Social Justice and Gender Equity. ADRA India has developed its expertise within this framework under the thematic areas of humanitarian response and protection, empowered communities, health and nutrition, and their various subsectors and country-specific approaches.
 
Position: District Coordinator
 
Reports to: State Lead
 
Location: Delhi
 
Job Purpose:
The District Coordinator will support the effective implementation and coordination of the TBBT programme at the district level, ensuring high-quality delivery, strong stakeholder engagement, and achievement of programme outcomes.
 
The role will contribute to enabling adolescents to build confidence, dignity, and informed behaviours, aligned with the programme’s core pillars of Awareness, Equity, Consent, Protection, and Inclusion.
 
Key Responsibilities:
 
Programme Coordination & Implementation
  • Support planning and execution of programme activities across assigned schools and zones
  • Ensure alignment of implementation with programme design, timelines, and quality standards
  • Coordinate with schools and field teams to facilitate smooth roll-out of sessions and engagement platforms
  • Monitor progress against district-level targets and support timely delivery
Field Implementation & Session Delivery
  • Conduct and/or co-facilitate school-based sessions on adolescent health, hygiene, consent, and life skills, as required
  • Support demonstration sessions to ensure quality and consistency of delivery
  • Provide on-site guidance and handholding to facilitators during programme implementation
  • Ensure sessions are participatory, inclusive, and aligned with behaviour change objectives
Capacity Building & Training
Support and co-facilitate training of teachers, school staff, and peer leaders
  • Conduct refresher trainings and ongoing capacity-building sessions for field teams
  • Provide continuous mentoring and coaching to improve facilitation quality and engagement approaches
  • Strengthen capacity of school stakeholders to sustain programme approaches
Stakeholder Engagement
  • Build and maintain relationships with:
  • District education authorities
  • School leadership and teachers
  • Community stakeholders and local institutions
  • Support coordination with relevant government departments and local systems
  • Facilitate stakeholder participation and strengthen local ownership
Quality Assurance & Monitoring
  • Conduct regular field monitoring visits to assess quality of programme delivery
  • Use monitoring tools to track session quality, participation, and engagement
  • Identify gaps and provide real-time feedback to improve implementation
  • Ensure adherence to programme standards, safeguarding protocols, and inclusive practices
Monitoring, Data & Reporting
  • Support data collection, validation, and reporting at the district level
  • Maintain accurate records of programme activities, participation, and outputs
  • Track progress against indicators and flag risks or delays
  • Contribute to preparation of periodic reports and documentation
Visibility & Communication
  • Support district-level visibility and outreach efforts, including school events and campaigns
  • Ensure correct use of programme branding and messaging at the field level
  • Document field-level stories, case studies, and best practices
  • Contribute to strengthening programme visibility through local platforms
Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisors.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in public health, Health Administration, Social Sciences, or a related field.
  • At least 3 years of experience in development projects, preferably those being implemented/managed by civil society in public health domain (experience in control of malaria and or other vector borne/communicable diseases and familiarity with GFATM project operations, preferably in multi-point implementation environment would be added advantages)
  • Ability to effectively coordinate with State Health Departments
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and manage large-scale health projects.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in project management software and tools.
  • Familiarity with state and national health systems and policies.

Background and Reference check
ADRA India will carry out a comprehensive background and reference check. This will encompass an evaluation of the individual's professional conduct, safeguarding practices, and overall work ethics
