# Job Description – Community Social Worker

Position: Community Social Worker (CSW)
Location: Giridih/Jamua, Jharkhand
Employment Type: Full-time / Field-based

About the Role

Banwasi Vikas Ashram is looking for a committed and motivated Community Social Worker to work at the community level on child protection, prevention of child marriage, child trafficking, child labour, education, and access to government welfare schemes.

Key Responsibilities

* Conduct regular field visits to villages and communities and build strong relationships with children, families, community members and local stakeholders.
* Identify and report cases related to child marriage, child labour, child trafficking, child abuse and online/digital exploitation of children.
* Support prevention, rescue, referral and follow-up of child protection cases in coordination with government departments and other stakeholders.
* Facilitate formation and strengthening of Child Welfare and Protection Committees (CWPCs) at the community/panchayat level.
* Conduct awareness meetings, community campaigns, workshops and sessions on child rights and protection.
* Support out-of-school children in accessing education and appropriate government services.
* Facilitate eligible families in accessing **government social security schemes and entitlements.
* Maintain case records, field visit reports, beneficiary information, attendance sheets and other project documentation.
* Collect and update field data and submit daily/weekly/monthly reports and MIS to the supervisor.
* Coordinate with Panchayati Raj Institutions, schools, Anganwadi centres, police, Child Welfare Committee, Childline/Child Helpline and other relevant stakeholders.
* Participate in project meetings, trainings, review meetings and community-level events.
* Perform other responsibilities assigned by the Project Coordinator/Program Manager.

Required Qualifications & Skills

* Graduate in Social Work, Sociology, Rural Development, Development Studies or a related field.
* Prior experience in community development, child protection, NGO/social sector work will be preferred.
* Good communication and interpersonal skills.
* Good documentation and report-writing skills.
* Basic knowledge of MS Word, Excel and data entry/MIS.
* Willingness to travel extensively in field areas.
Two-wheeler and valid driving licence are preferred/required for field work.
* Ability to work with children, families and communities with sensitivity and professionalism.

Candidate Preference

Preference will be given to local candidates from Jamua and Giridih blocks, particularly those who have good knowledge of the local community, villages and language.
