About the Organisation
The State Health Systems Resource Centre (SHSRC), Chhattisgarh serves as a key technical support institution to the Department of Health & Family Welfare and the National Health Mission, Government of Chhattisgarh, providing strategic and technical support for public health planning, programme implementation, capacity building, monitoring, research, and evidence-based decision-making. In this context, SACH (Society for Action in Community Health) provides technical and institutional support to SHSRC, drawing on over three decades of experience in public health, training and capacity building, operational research, and health systems strengthening.
SHSRC is seeking an experienced and dynamic Senior Technical Manager – Public Health to provide technical leadership and support across priority public health programmes, strengthen implementation and programme management, and contribute to evidence generation, capacity building, monitoring, and institutional strengthening in the state.
Role Overview
The Senior Manager – Technical (Public Health) will serve as a key technical resource for SHSRC and provide strategic and technical support to the Directorate of Health Services (DHS) and the National Health Mission (NHM), Chhattisgarh. The position will play a critical role in strengthening public health systems, supporting program implementation, and facilitating evidence-based decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
• Provide technical guidance and strategic support on public health and health systems strengthening initiatives.
• Serve as the primary technical resource person for matters related to DHS and NHM.
• Represent SHSRC in technical reviews, consultations, workshops, and stakeholder forums.
• Lead the development and review of technical documents, guidelines, reports, training materials, and policy briefs.
• Support planning, implementation, monitoring, evaluation, and capacity-building activities.
• Coordinate with government departments, development partners, academic institutions, and other stakeholders.
• Contribute to operational research, documentation, knowledge management, and dissemination of best practices.
Required Qualifications and Experience
• MBBS with MD/DNB in Community Medicine / Preventive & Social Medicine / Public Health from a reputed institute (preferred).
• Demonstrated experience in public health programme implementation, health systems strengthening, training, research, monitoring, and stakeholder coordination especially government counterparts.
• Strong technical writing, analytical, communication, and presentation skills in English and Hindi is non-negotiable.
• Candidates with experience of working with government health systems, NHM, medical colleges, development partners, or public health institutions will be highly preferred.
