Aga Khan Rural Support Programme (India) is hiring a consulting agency to conduct a feasibility study in one of its project region Madhya Pradesh. The proposed feasibility study will be conducted for the project titled “Livelihood Enterprise Feasibility, Development and Promotion Study in Madhya Pradesh” Objective of this study is to identify viable entrepreneurship and enterprise feasibility, opportunities and develop an actionable strategy for promoting sustainable enterprises in the Nimar region.
Project Background
The study will follow a livelihood activity-oriented and market-oriented entrepreneurship development approach. The study will generate evidence on existing and potential enterprises, market opportunities, Credit Linkages, demand, value chains, enterprise feasibility and value addition, enterprise feasibility, profitability, support requirements (Training & Compliances) and market linkages.
Scope of studies
To assess the feasibility and potential for promoting sustainable entrepreneurship and enterprise feasibility opportunities in the Nimar region of Madhya Pradesh and develop an actionable strategy for AKRSP(I).
Specific Objectives of the study will:
- Map the existing entrepreneurship and enterprise ecosystem in the study area.
- Identify existing, emerging and potential enterprise opportunities.
- Assess the aspirations, capacities, skills, resources and constraints of potential entrepreneurs, particularly women and youth.
- Assess market demand, customer preferences, competition, pricing, market channels and market-entry opportunities.
- Identify value chains with potential for processing, value addition, branding and market expansion.
- Assess the business feasibility of shortlisted enterprise opportunities, including investment, working capital, costs, revenue, profitability, break-even potential and risks.
- Identify the finance, skills, technology, government and institutional partnerships (District Officials as farm based and non-farm based sectors), infrastructure and institutional support required for enterprise development.
- Assess the suitability of opportunities for Tribal youth, women, SHGs, farmers and existing entrepreneurs.
- Develop a transparent framework to rank and prioritise enterprise.
- Recommend 10–20 high-potential enterprise opportunities for potential pilot and further development.
- Develop recommendations for an entrepreneurship promotion strategy, including potential scale-up and replication.
