Position Description Role Purpose:
  • The HR Manager – HRBP & Field Operations will provide strategic and hands-on HR business partnering support to the organisation, with particular responsibility for employee experience, performance management, engagement, learning and development, employee relations, retention and HR support to field operations.
  • The role will translate the organisation's people strategy into effective HR practices and ensure that managers and employees receive timely, consistent and high-quality HR support.
  • The position will also provide functional leadership to the HR Officer and act as the primary HR partner for field operations, working closely with programme and operational leadership.
Key Responsibilities:
 
HR Business Partnering:
  • Partner with managers and leadership teams on people-related matters.
  • Understand workforce, capability and people requirements across functions and field operations.
  • Provide HR advice to managers on employee lifecycle, performance, engagement and employee relations matters.
  • Support managers in handling people challenges and difficult conversations.
  • Act as a trusted HR partner while maintaining appropriate confidentiality and professional judgement.
  • Identify recurring people issues and recommend systemic interventions.
Performance Management:
  • Lead the annual PMS calendar and ensure timely completion of performance processes.
  • Coordinate goal-setting, mid-year reviews and annual performance reviews.
  • Support managers in effective goal setting and performance conversations.
  • Coordinate performance calibration and moderation processes.
  • Consolidate performance inputs and identify organisational trends.
  • Support PIP initiation, monitoring and closure.
  • Ensure performance concerns are addressed in a timely and fair manner.
  • Partner with leadership on promotion, increment and performance-related recommendations.
30-60-90 Day Feedback & Probation:
  • Oversee the employee 30-60-90 day feedback process.
  • Ensure appropriate evaluators/respondents are identified.
  • Review feedback findings and identify red flags.
  • Work with reporting managers to address concerns.
  • Support probation review discussions and decisions.
  • Ensure probation confirmations/extensions are completed within timelines.
  • Ensure OKRs/KRAs are appropriately established for new employees.
Employee Engagement & Culture:
  • Develop and implement the employee engagement calendar.
  • Coordinate town halls and employee communication initiatives.
  • Lead employee engagement surveys and action planning.
  • Support recognition and rewards initiatives.
  • Drive employee wellbeing initiatives.
  • Support culture-building initiatives.
  • Lead employee satisfaction analysis and recommend interventions.
  • Coordinate DEI-related initiatives in partnership with leadership.
  • Lead retention interventions for critical or at-risk employees.
Employee Relations:
  • Act as the primary HR point for employee grievances and workplace concerns.
  • Support managers in resolving employee relations matters.
  • Ensure grievances are handled fairly, confidentially and consistently.
  • Support disciplinary processes where required.
  • Coordinate appropriate documentation for warnings, show-cause notices and other employee relations actions.
  • Escalate sensitive or high-risk matters to the Head – People & Organisation.
Manager Coaching:
  • Coach managers on people management and employee conversations.
  • Support managers in giving effective feedback.
  • Help managers address performance and behavioural concerns.
  • Build manager capability in performance management, employee engagement and retention.
  • Support managers in handling probation, PIP and employee relations situations.
Learning & Development:
  • Coordinate the annual Training Needs Identification process.
  • Support development of the annual learning calendar.
  • Coordinate nominations and participation in learning programmes.
  • Partner with managers to identify capability-building requirements.
  • Track training participation and completion.
  • Assess learning effectiveness.
  • Track Individual Development Plans.
  • Coordinate leadership development initiatives.
  • Work with the Head – People & Organisation on organisation-wide capability-building priorities.
Field HR Partnership:
  • Act as the central HRBP for field operations.
  • Establish regular HR connect with field managers and employees.
  • Support field leadership on performance, engagement, retention and employee relations.
  • Identify field-specific people risks and recommend interventions.
  • Ensure consistent application of HR policies and practices across field locations.
  • Coordinate with Field HR resources and central HR Operations.
  • Support workforce planning and people-related problem solving for field operations.
People Analytics & Insights:
  • Analyse employee engagement, retention, performance and people trends.
  • Develop insights for leadership decision-making.
  • Identify attrition risks and retention priorities.
  • Contribute to monthly and quarterly People reviews.
  • Use HR data to identify organisational trends and recommend interventions.
Policies, Processes & Organisational Development:
  • Support development and periodic review of HR policies.
  • Identify gaps in HR processes and recommend improvements.
  • Ensure HR practices are aligned with organisational values and culture.
  • Support organisational structure and role design discussions.
  • Contribute to succession planning, talent reviews and critical-role discussions

Experience & Qualifications:
Postgraduate qualification in Human Resources / Personnel Management / related discipline preferred, with relevant HR generalist/HRBP experience. Experience in a multi-location or field-based organisation will be an advantage. The role requires a balance of strategic thinking, strong interpersonal skills and hands-on execution capability.
