JOB DESCRIPTION
• Position: Associate Director - Finance
• Location: New Delhi
• Job Type: Full Time
• Reporting To: Director - Finance

Descriptions for the role:
Associate Director – Finance is responsible for supporting the Director – Finance in leading the organization's finance function, ensuring effective financial planning, budgeting, accounting, reporting, compliance, internal controls, and grant financial management. The role provides strategic and operational financial oversight, partners with program and leadership teams to support informed decision-making, ensures compliance with statutory and donor requirements, and promotes the efficient and accountable use of organizational resources.

Key Responsibilities:
Financial Strategy & Leadership:
• Support organizational leadership in developing and executing financial strategies aligned with Sewa International's mission.
• Provide financial analysis and recommendations for strategic initiatives and organizational growth.
• Develop financial policies, procedures, and best practices.

Financial Planning & Budgeting:
• Lead the annual budgeting process across programs and departments.
• Prepare long-term financial forecasts and scenario analyses.
• Monitor budget utilization and provide variance analysis.
• Partner with program managers to ensure effective financial planning and resource allocation.

Accounting & Financial Reporting:
• Oversee general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, fixed assets, and cash management.
• Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards and nonprofit accounting practices.
• Prepare financial statements for Director – Finance, management, Board and external stakeholders.

Grant & Donor Financial Management:
• Oversee financial management of grants from institutional donors, foundations, corporations, and government agencies.
• Ensure compliance with donor financial guidelines and reporting requirements.
• Review grant budgets, expenditure tracking, and financial reporting.

Maintain Accurate Documentation and Reporting:
• Assist the Director – Finance in financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, statutory reporting, donor reporting, audits, and strengthening internal financial controls.
• Keep timely, structured records of fellow interactions, progress, risks, and interventions.
• To maintain discipline, keep a watch on the attendance and compliance of the fellows

Compliance & Risk Management:
• Ensure compliance with statutory, regulatory, tax, and nonprofit reporting requirements.
• Strengthen internal controls and financial governance.
• Coordinate statutory, internal, and donor audits.
• Implement recommendations arising from audit findings.

Foreign contribution Regulation Act Compliance:
• Ensure end-to-end compliance with FCRA 2010, FCRA Rules, amendments, notifications, and applicable regulatory requirements.
• Monitor receipt, accounting, utilization, and reporting of foreign contributions in accordance with FCRA requirements.
• Prepare and review FCRA financial statements and annual returns, including Form FC-4 and other applicable filings.
• Support management in responding to queries, notices, inspections, audits, or communications from the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) and other regulatory authorities.
• Work closely with program, grants, procurement, HR, and legal teams to ensure compliant utilization of foreign funds.
• Develop periodic MIS reports for management covering foreign contribution receipts, utilization, balances, commitments, and compliance status.
• Identify financial/compliance risks and recommend corrective and preventive actions

Requirements:
• Chartered Accountant (CA) / CMA / Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, Commerce or equivalent professional qualification preferred.
• 5–8 years of experience in NGO or development sector.
• Strong understanding of CSR regulations and corporate engagement.
• Strong hands-on experience with FCRA compliance, foreign grants accounting, statutory audits, and financial reporting.
• Strong knowledge of accounting standards, taxation, internal controls, and statutory compliance.

Compensation:
As per the Development Sector norms.
