The Paramedical Staff in a CCI is responsible for ensuring the healthcare, hygiene, nutrition, and medical follow-up of children residing in the institution.

Key responsibilities include:
Daily Health Monitoring
Monitor the general health and well-being of children.
Check temperature, weight, height, blood pressure, and other basic health parameters when required.
Identify signs of illness, injury, or any health concern and report promptly.
First Aid and Basic Medical Care
Provide first aid during minor injuries, illness, or emergencies.
Maintain and monitor the first-aid box and essential medical supplies.
Ensure timely referral to a hospital or healthcare facility when necessary.
Medical Records & Documentation
Maintain individual health records of every child.
Record medical examinations, treatments, vaccinations, investigations, and referrals.
Maintain records of medicines administered and medical follow-ups.
Medicine Management
Administer medicines strictly as prescribed by a qualified medical practitioner.
Maintain proper records of medicines received, used, and remaining.
Ensure medicines are stored safely and appropriately.
Hospital & Doctor Coordination
Accompany children to hospitals, clinics, diagnostic centres, and medical appointments when required.
Coordinate with doctors and healthcare professionals regarding children's treatment and follow-up.
Ensure prescribed investigations and follow-up visits are completed.
Nutrition & Hygiene
Monitor children's personal hygiene and cleanliness.
Coordinate with CCI staff regarding children's dietary and nutritional needs.
Identify children requiring special dietary attention based on medical advice.
Health Awareness
Conduct or assist in health-awareness sessions on personal hygiene, menstrual hygiene, nutrition, sanitation, and prevention of common illnesses.
Encourage healthy habits among children.
Emergency Response
Take immediate appropriate action during medical emergencies.
Inform the Superintendent/concerned authority and arrange emergency medical care when required.
Coordination with CCI Team
Work closely with the Superintendent, Child Welfare Officer/Case Worker, House Mother/Caregiver, counsellor, and other staff regarding children's health needs.
Report significant health concerns and changes in a child's condition to the appropriate authority.
Confidentiality and Child Protection
Maintain confidentiality of children's medical information.
Follow CCI rules, child protection standards, and instructions of the competent authority.

In short: The paramedical staff acts as the primary healthcare support person within the CCI, ensuring regular health monitoring, first aid, medicine management, medical referrals, documentation, hygiene, nutrition support, and coordination with healthcare providers.
