• BDS from a recognised university/institution, with one of the following: (a) three years of post-qualification experience in oral health surveys or research/field level experiences using standardised dental indices and assessments such as DMFT/DMFS, untreated caries, periodontal/CPI domains, OHI-S, tooth loss and oral mucosal examination and oral-health-related quality of life measures such as OHIP-14; or (b) a postgraduate degree such as MDS/MPH or equivalent, including an integrated postgraduate degree; or (c) PhD, in accordance with ICMR eligibility for Project Research Scientist-II (Medical).
• Demonstrable training, qualification or substantive experience in Public Health Dentistry/Community Dentistry/oral-health research. MDS in Public Health Dentistry/Community Dentistry will be strongly preferred.
• Valid registration with an appropriate State Dental Council or other applicable statutory dental registration authority.

• Experience in community-based oral-health surveys, epidemiological studies or implementation research, preferably in rural or tribal settings.
• Experience with standardised dental indices and assessments such as DMFT/DMFS, untreated caries, periodontal/CPI domains, OHI-S, tooth loss, oral mucosal examination and oral-health-related quality of life measures such as OHIP-14.
• Experience in examiner calibration, inter-rater reliability, clinical quality assurance, data management, statistical analysis and scientific writing.
• Working knowledge of digital data collection platforms such as KoBoToolbox/REDCap and standard office/statistical software.
• Ability to work in multidisciplinary field teams. Knowledge of Bengali, Hindi or Santali will be an advantage.

• Lead preparation and field implementation of the oral-health assessment protocol, examination manual, SOPs, referral procedures and infection-control arrangements.
• Conduct and supervise calibrated oral-health examinations at the scheduled study rounds, including assessment of caries, periodontal status, oral hygiene, tooth loss, oral mucosal findings and OHIP-14.
• Coordinate examiner calibration and re-calibration with the reference examiner; oversee duplicate examinations and quality checks, including the study reliability threshold before independent deployment.
• Train and supervise project staff in oral-health related field procedures, consent/referral documentation, equipment handling and data-quality requirements.
• Ensure appropriate referral and documentation for participants who require oral-health or related clinical care identified during field assessment.
• Work with the PI and research team on data cleaning, interpretation, analysis, progress reports, presentations, policy outputs and peer-reviewed manuscripts.
• Undertake field travel and other study-related responsibilities assigned by the PI consistent with the sanctioned project.

• 10th pass plus Diploma (MLT/DMLT/ITI or equivalent) with two years of relevant experience; OR a three-year graduate degree in a relevant subject/field with one year of relevant experience, in accordance with ICMR eligibility.
• Candidates holding a relevant postgraduate degree may also be considered in line with the ICMR clarification on PTS-I eligibility. Practical exposure to programme implementation, community-based research, surveys, data collection or field coordination will be assessed during shortlisting.
• Ability to speak Bengali is mandatory. Working knowledge of Santali and/or Hindi will be an advantage.
• Willingness and ability to travel frequently, work in rural/tribal areas, attend weekly haats and undertake fieldwork according to study schedules.

• Experience in public health, nutrition, NCD, community development, social research, market/retail surveys or implementation programmes.
• Experience in household surveys, informed consent, follow-up of study participants, qualitative fieldwork, community mobilisation or programme monitoring.
• Comfort with smartphones/tablets, digital forms, GPS/geolocation and data-entry applications. Familiarity with KoBoToolbox will be an advantage.
• Good interpersonal skills, attention to detail and ability to maintain confidentiality and research ethics in small communities.

• Support household listing, participant mobilisation, informed-consent procedures, enrolment and longitudinal follow-up of the study cohort.
• Administer structured study tools under supervision, including the product-specific UPF/SSB FFQ, food-behaviour modules, dietary-diversity tools, exposure/contamination modules and other approved instruments.
• Support food-environment research, including product inventories, vendor and haat assessments, price/pack-size and promotion checks, sales observations, litter-pack transects and GPS/geolocation of outlets and community facilities.
• Assist with recruitment and logistics for focus group discussions, key-informant interviews, co-design sessions, SHG/community meetings and intervention activities.
• Maintain accurate real-time digital data, field logs, participant tracking records, referral or follow-up records and daily quality checks.
• Coordinate respectfully with households, ASHAs, Anganwadi workers, SHGs, vendors, teachers, Panchayati Raj representatives and customary community leaders.
• Support intervention delivery and process-monitoring activities in intervention villages while maintaining study procedures intended to reduce contamination between intervention and comparison areas.
• Undertake any other project-related field or research task assigned by the PI/project supervisors.

• Master's degree from a recognised university/institution in Public Health, Social Work, Sociology, Anthropology, Nutrition, Population Studies, Rural Development, Psychology, Health Sciences, Statistics/Biostatistics or another field demonstrably relevant to the study.
• Documented research experience in public health, social/behavioural research, implementation research or community-based studies. Experience may include quantitative or qualitative data collection, data management, field coordination, analysis or research reporting.
• Strong written and spoken communication in English. Knowledge of Bengali and/or Hindi is desirable; Santali language familiarity will be an added advantage.
• Willingness to undertake frequent field travel and supervise work in rural and tribal settings.

• Experience in mixed-methods research, longitudinal/cohort studies, food-environment research, nutrition, NCD prevention, commercial determinants of health, oral health or tribal/indigenous health.
• Experience in developing/adapting questionnaires and SOPs, training field investigators, qualitative interviewing, field monitoring and data-quality assurance.
• Working knowledge of KoBoToolbox/REDCap, spreadsheets and statistical packages; familiarity with GIS/QGIS or qualitative-analysis software will be an advantage.
• Experience preparing research reports, presentations, literature reviews, ethics documentation, policy briefs or manuscripts.

• Coordinate field implementation across study components and supervise Project Technical Support-I staff, schedules, logistics and daily field quality.
• Support adaptation, translation, pre-testing and version control of study instruments, manuals, SOPs and digital forms.
• Coordinate household and market sampling, cohort tracking, food-environment mapping, vendor/value-chain assessments, qualitative research and process-evaluation activities.
• Conduct or support FGDs and KIIs, maintain field notes and documentation, and assist with transcription/translation workflows and framework-based analysis.
• Monitor data completeness and consistency; support daily backups, query resolution, data cleaning, coding and preparation of datasets for analysis.
• Support co-design sessions, training of community/SHG partners, intervention monitoring, contamination measurement and quarterly review processes.
• Prepare field summaries, progress reports, tables, presentations and other research outputs; contribute to policy briefs and manuscripts under investigator guidance.
• Undertake any other research or project-related responsibility assigned by the PI consistent with the sanctioned study.

• These are temporary project positions and do not confer any right to permanent employment with MANT or ICMR.
• The cut-off date for determining age and eligibility will be the last date for submission of applications. Age relaxation will be applied as permissible under applicable ICMR/Government of India rules.
• All qualifications must be from recognised boards/universities/institutions. Where experience is prescribed against a minimum qualification, it will be considered after acquisition of that qualification, subject to applicable ICMR provisions.
• The selected candidates may be required to work at either project site and to travel or stay in field locations according to project requirements.
