CONTENT OF TERMS OF REFERENCE
1. Background:
UN ORGANISATION India Country Office (ICO) has signed a Country Programme Document 2023–27 with the Government of India (GOI) defining the areas of collaboration and support. Advocacy and strengthening actions on Healthy Diets is an important area of Nutrition work and aligns with deliverables under the variousdonor grants.
The consultancy will support UN ORGANISATION to strengthen its engagement with private schools and academia as part of its Advocacy for Healthy Diets work. In 2026, UN ORGANISATION launched a school-based initiative in partnership with a private school network to promote healthy eating and active lifestyles among school children, while contributing to efforts to address rising childhood overweight and obesity. In 2027, the initiative will continue and be scaled up to multiple states, with a focus on consolidating implementation, generating evidence on what works, and building pathways for adoption within school systems. Therefore, a dedicated full-time technical assistance is needed to consolidate Advocacy for Healthy Diets (AHD) efforts, support Nutrition Network colleagues in Delhi and across states, sustain engagement with key counterparts, and document results and lessons to inform future programming.
