Shivi Development Society (SDS) is a non-profit organization that works on the issues of women empowerment, child rights and good governance and promotes people’s participation as a cross-cutting theme. SDS undertakes community outreach programs including participatory research, grassroots action, and need-based policy advocacy.
SDS is looking for a woman professional working in the development sector with a special interest in women's leadership, human rights, and empowerment issues. The person should have a post-graduate degree in Social Work/Sociology/Law or a related field, with relevant work experience. The candidate must have a strong command of spoken and written English and Hindi.
Candidate Could Be Based In Delhi Or Raipur With Extensive Travel
Major Responsibilities:
1. Project coordination, providing necessary support to the field team and acting as the communication link with the Delhi office.
2. Conduct community-level mapping to identify community women leaders and facilitate baseline data collection, field surveys, and participatory assessments on GBV, Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR), and health access.
3. Develop localized training curriculums and hold regular capacity-building sessions, peer group meetings, and exposure visits for community women leaders.
4. Organize state and district-level thematic dialogues, multi-stakeholder consultations, and policy roundtables with government departments, media, and academic institutions.
5. Co-develop advocacy toolkits and produce evidence-based policy briefs, monitoring reports, and case studies to drive systemic change.
6. Build and maintain formal collaborations with relevant government departments, NGOs, and frontline workers to strengthen coordinated responses.
7. Provide technical and logistical support to enable community women leaders to participate actively in local governance, such as Gram Sabhas and public hearings.
8. Ensure smooth implementation of all project activities and timely submission of narrative and financial reports to management and donors.
Remuneration: Negotiable depending on experience, comparable within the NGO sector.
