1)Case Management
Prepare and maintain individual case files and case histories of children admitted to the CCI.
Conduct individual assessments to identify the child's needs, family background, educational status, health concerns and psychosocial requirements.
Assist in preparing and implementing Individual Care Plans (ICPs) for each child.
Regularly review each child's progress and update case records.
2)Child Care and Protection
Ensure the safety, dignity and well-being of all children residing in the institution.
Identify and report cases of abuse, neglect, exploitation, trafficking, violence or other forms of risk.
Support children in adjusting to the institutional environment and promote their emotional and social development.
Ensure that children are treated without discrimination and that their rights are protected.
3)Family Assessment and Reintegration
Conduct family assessments and home visits, as appropriate and authorized.
Maintain contact with parents, guardians and family members in the child's best interests.
Facilitate family counselling, restoration and reintegration in accordance with applicable legal procedures and competent authority orders.
Follow up on children after restoration or reintegration, wherever required.
4)Coordination with Authorities
Coordinate with the Child Welfare Committee (CWC), Juvenile Justice Board (JJB), District Child Protection Unit (DCPU), Special Juvenile Police Unit (SJPU), Child Welfare Police Officer, District Legal Services Authority and other relevant agencies, as applicable.
Assist in preparing social investigation reports, social background reports, progress reports and other case-related documents as required by the competent authority.
Ensure timely submission of reports and compliance with official directions.
5)Education, Health and Development
Coordinate with educational institutions to support school admission, attendance and learning.
Facilitate access to healthcare, nutrition, hygiene, recreational activities and vocational training.
Encourage participation in sports, cultural programmes, creative activities and life-skills education.
Monitor the developmental progress and individual needs of children.
6)Documentation and Record Maintenance
Maintain accurate, updated and confidential case files, admission records, case histories, home-visit reports, counselling notes, Individual Care Plans and follow-up reports.
Document significant incidents and take appropriate reporting action.
Maintain confidentiality of children's personal information and records.
Ensure that records are maintained in accordance with applicable JJ Rules and institutional procedures.
7)Rehabilitation and Aftercare
Assist in planning rehabilitation, restoration, family-based care and aftercare services, as applicable.
Support age-appropriate vocational guidance, independent living skills and preparation for transition out of institutional care.
Coordinate with relevant agencies to facilitate access to welfare schemes and rehabilitation services.
8)Teamwork and Institutional Duties
Participate in case conferences, staff meetings, care-plan reviews and training programmes.
Work collaboratively with the Superintendent, counsellor, housemother, educators, healthcare personnel and other staff members.
Perform other child-care and case-management duties assigned by the competent authority, consistent with the post and applicable law.
