Lupin Human Welfare & Research Foundation (LHWRF) is the social responsibility arm of Lupin Limited, founded by Dr. Desh Bandhu Gupta in 1988. In its journey spanning over three decades, the foundation has impacted more than 1.57 million beneficiaries across 4700 villages in 24 districts, spread across eight states in India.
Throughout its journey, the foundation has primarily focused on creating sustainable livelihood opportunities and fostering economic growth in some of the most underdeveloped districts in India. It adopts a family-centered approach and initiates measures to help break the cycle of poverty, thus making a positive impact on the lives and livelihoods of the beneficiaries.
The Livelihoods Program has been a critical and instrumental element of our development efforts for the last decade. With a drive to create a profound impact, the livelihoods program focuses on establishing sustainable solutions for the disadvantaged and vulnerable communities. Capacity building, natural resource management, livestock development, strengthening grassroots value chains, and improving farmers' market access are vital components of our Livelihoods strategy.
The Lives Program focuses on enriching the quality of life within communities and ensuring better access to healthcare services. A strategic engagement aimed at strengthening health systems to address Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) and Cardiovascular Diseases (CVDs) stands as an irreplaceable building block of our Lives strategy.
Position Summary
The Training Coordinator will be responsible for planning, coordinating, implementing, and monitoring capacity-building activities under the Better Cotton Initiative Project across Dhule and Nandurbar districts. The role focuses on strengthening knowledge and promoting the adoption of Better Cotton Principles & Criteria, sustainable agricultural practices, decent work, and gender inclusion among farmers, field staff, and community institutions.
Qualification & Experience
- Post-graduate degree in Agriculture (M.Sc. Agri)
- Minimum 5 years of experience in capacity building, training needs assessment, and coordination of farmer trainings under livelihood or agriculture development projects
- Experience in cotton or sustainability projects will be preferred
- Fluency in Marathi and English communication is required
Skills Required
- Strong training facilitation and community mobilization skills
- Effective planning, coordination, and reporting abilities
- Field-oriented approach with willingness to travel extensively in project areas
- Proficiency in computer applications, especially MS Office
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and implement district-wise training plans aligned with the crop calendar and project targets
- Identify training needs of field team members and develop a structured training calendar to strengthen their capacities
- Lead capacity-building initiatives for Field Facilitators and community committees through Training of Trainers (ToT) and on-field mentoring
- Coordinate and facilitate farmer trainings, demonstrations, exposure visits, and awareness programmes on Better Cotton Principles and sustainable agriculture
- Develop and utilize training materials, IEC tools, and participatory learning methodologies in the local language
- Manage training data, documentation, and analysis to support informed decision-making
- Track improvements in farmer knowledge, skills, and adoption of recommended practices through surveys and assessment tools
- Coordinate with technical experts, government departments, Farmer Producer Companies (FPCs), and partner organizations for specialized training programmes
- Provide relevant inputs for monthly and quarterly project reports
- Liaise with project stakeholders on capacity-building initiatives and related coordination
