Role & responsibilities:
• Support in development and monitoring compliance of relevant policy guidelines
• Ensure compliance of statutory and donor requirements for each project in respective state offices (branch and field offices) while working in the national office
• Ensure organizational and project related book- keeping / accounting work and maintenance of all associated records.
• Review vendor bills/staff claims in accordance with approved budget and A&F policies and procedures.
• Coordinate with staff for proper documentation of their
• claims and adherence of A&F policies.
• Prepare and submit financial monthly / quarterly statements/reports to donor.
• Responsible for preparation of budgets, forecasts, and cash flows
• Processing of monthly Payroll
• Assist in statutory annual/project financial audit by an accredited agency, submissions / filings to relevant authorities, and ensuring adherence to recommendations made by the auditors.
• Responsible for maintenance and review of Fixed Assets Record for the Projects.
• Deposit of Statuary Dues i.e., TDS/PF and ESIC etc
• Any other Accounting and Finance related tasks as requested by supervisor.
Required skills & experience
• Masters/Bachelor’s degree with 6-8 years’ experience in independently handling budgets, financial management and bookkeeping with thorough knowledge of accounting software.
• Prior experience in monitoring budgets, spending, and accounting systems of partner organisations, preferably for a donor organisation
• Prior experience in managing Global Fund project will be considered an advantage.
• Quality conscious and excellent attention to detail and accuracy
• A strong sense of proactivity to ensure efficient financial management
• Good time management skills and ability to prioritize
• Flexibility and ability to work in a team, as well as strong cooperation and people skills
• Knowledge of Indian Tax Laws and Audit standards
• Proficiency in applications of MS Excel and accounting software
• Strong oral and written communication skills in English
