Program Manager

1. Organization Background

2. Project Background
The project aims to reduce the burden of haemoglobinopathies through:
• Awareness and behavior change communication
• Carrier screening and early diagnosis
• Strengthening treatment and referral services
• Capacity building of healthcare providers

3. Position Summary
The Program Manager will be responsible for overall planning, execution, and monitoring of the haemoglobinopathies project. The role requires close coordination with government stakeholders, partners, and communities to ensure effective program delivery.

4. Key Roles and Responsibilities
A. Program Planning & Implementation
• Develop detailed implementation plans, budgets, and timelines
• Ensure effective rollout of screening, counseling, and treatment services
• Integrate program activities with existing public health systems
B. Partnership & Stakeholder Management
• Build and maintain partnerships with government departments, donors, NGOs, and healthcare institutions
• Represent the organization in technical meetings and forums
• Ensure alignment with state and national health priorities
C. Monitoring, Evaluation & Learning (MEL)
• Develop and implement M&E frameworks and indicators
• Track progress against targets and outcomes
• Document learnings, success stories, and best practices
D. Team Management
• Supervise program staff, consultants, and field teams
• Provide mentorship and performance oversight
• Ensure timely deliverables from all team members
E. Financial & Grant Management
• Prepare and monitor program budgets
• Ensure compliance with donor requirements and financial guidelines
• Support proposal development and donor reporting
F. Capacity Building
• Design and facilitate training for healthcare workers and program staff
• Strengthen counseling and screening capacities at the facility and community levels
G. Advocacy & Communication
• Lead awareness campaigns on thalassemia prevention
• Support IEC/BCC material development
• Promote community engagement initiatives

5. Key Deliverables
• Annual and quarterly work plans

6. Qualification & Experience
• MBBS or BSc Nursing with Master’s degree in Public Health / Social Sciences / Health Management or related field
• 4-5 years of relevant experience in public health programs
• Experience in managing donor-funded projects is desirable
• Prior experience in genetic disorders, NCDs, or maternal & child health is an advantage

• Upto 12 lakhs/annum
