About Program:
The Udayan Shalini Fellowship (USF) is a pioneering initiative designed to uplift deserving and talented girls from disadvantaged backgrounds, nurturing them into empowered, dignified women—Shalinis. Unlike traditional scholarships, USF goes beyond financial support for higher education by offering mentoring, leadership training, life skills, and employability training, and by instilling a deep sense of social responsibility.
Today, Shalinis are making strides in diverse fields, including engineering, medicine, chartered accountancy, teaching, nursing, and computer science. With 38 chapters across 15 states, the program has transformed the lives of over 18,500+ girls, enabling them to break barriers, achieve excellence, and contribute meaningfully to society.

Role Overview:
The Assistant Manager – Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E) plays a pivotal role in strengthening the evidence base and learning culture within the Udayan Shalini Fellowship Program. This position is responsible for designing, implementing, and managing robust M&E systems to track program performance, measure outcomes, and support data-driven decision-making across all USF chapters. The incumbent will work closely with program teams, regional managers, and senior leadership to ensure accountability, quality, and continuous improvement in program delivery.

Key Responsibilities:
Monitoring & Evaluation System Design and Management:
Design and implement a comprehensive M&E framework aligned with USF program goals and donor requirements
Develop and maintain monitoring tools, including data collection formats, trackers, dashboards, and reporting templates
Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) and milestones across all USF chapters and verticals
Conduct regular data quality audits to ensure accuracy, completeness, and consistency of program data
Maintain and update the M&E components within the ERP/MIS system and ensure timely data entry by field teams

Data Collection, Analysis & Reporting:
Coordinate the collection of quantitative and qualitative data from chapters, regional managers, and program coordinators
Analyze program data to identify trends, gaps, and areas for improvement, and present findings in an actionable format
Prepare periodic impact reports and case studies for internal use, donors, and other stakeholders
Support preparation of mid-term and end-term program evaluations and baseline/endline assessments
Maintain a disaggregated database of Shalinis capturing their educational, social, and economic progress

Learning & Continuous Improvement:
Document learnings, best practices, and success stories from program implementation across chapters
Facilitate internal learning sessions and review meetings with program teams to discuss M&E findings and recommendations
Support development of knowledge products such as briefs, newsletters, and annual reports using data insights
Contribute to the development and periodic review of program manuals, guidelines, and standard operating procedures

Capacity Building & Coordination:
Build the M&E capacity of program coordinators and regional teams through training, coaching, and supportive supervision
Develop simple, user-friendly data collection tools and guidelines for field-level staff
Coordinate with the program team to ensure integration of M&E processes in program planning and implementation cycles
Liaise with external evaluators, research partners, and technology vendors as required

Stakeholder Engagement & Compliance:
Prepare donor reports and presentations with accurate data and evidence of program impact
Ensure M&E activities comply with organizational policies, donor requirements, and ethical standards, including child safeguarding
Represent M&E function in internal reviews, donor meetings, and external forums as needed

Experience and Qualification:
4–6 years of relevant work experience in M&E roles within the development/social sector
Master's degree in social work, Statistics, Development Studies, Public Policy, or a related field
Prior experience working in education, skilling, or youth development programs is preferred
Demonstrated experience in designing M&E frameworks, log frames, and results-based management tools

Skills Required:
Strong quantitative and qualitative data analysis skills
Proficiency in data management tools: MS Excel (advanced), SPSS, STATA, or equivalent; familiarity with ERP/MIS systems
Excellent report writing and data visualization skills; ability to communicate complex data in a simple, compelling manner
Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
Experience working with diverse stakeholders, including field teams, senior management, and donors
Awareness of child protection policies, gender sensitivity, and safeguarding standards
Ability to travel to USF chapters across India as required
