The District Coordinator will be at the heart of Girl Rising’s work in Bilaspur, Chhattisgarh. This is a dynamic, field-intensive role that demands equal parts relationship-building, program management, and on-ground problem-solving. You will serve as the primary liaison between Girl Rising, our implementing partner, government schools, teachers, parents, and district authorities. This is an expanded role where you will actively shape curriculum adaptation, lead teacher capacity-building, drive government engagement, and contribute to the evidence base that helps us grow. If you are energised by working directly with communities, believe deeply in girls’ education, and are comfortable operating with both autonomy and accountability, this role is for you.

Key Responsibilities
Stakeholder Engagement:
Serve as the primary point of contact for Girl Rising with local stakeholders, including the implementation partner, Field Staff, Parents, Teachers, School Administrations, and the local government.
Build and nurture trust-based relationships with teachers and school administration in implementation schools to ensure smooth project delivery.
Facilitate meaningful community engagement with parents to encourage participation in Girl Rising’s sessions and align with project goals
Represent Girl Rising in all community forums including meetings with teachers, parents, panchayats to promote the project’s work and foster collaboration.
Represent Girl Rising in all block, district and state level government meetings Nurture good relationships with key government officials in the state to ensure long-term potential for scalability and sustainability of the project
Identify opportunities for Girl Rising India to strengthen government relationships
Identify and cultivate spokespersons among all stakeholders, including students, teachers, parents, whose stories can amplify the program’s impact externally.


Training of Teachers:
Responsible for supporting the implementation partner and Girl Rising in the planning and delivery of Teacher Training Workshops, which will be conducted twice during the project implementation.
Facilitate in-person and virtual learning circles with teachers every quarter to provide hands-on support, address challenges, and sustain motivation.
Lead Teacher engagement by conducting frequent meetings, and fostering strong relationships to build buy-in, motivation and alignment with project goals.
Identify teachers who need additional support and design targeted interventions in collaboration with the program team.


Project Management:
Dedicate 60% of weekly work time to in-person engagement with schools and communities to maintain quality and adherence to timelines.
Align timelines of curriculum implementation in school, parent sessions, teachers training, and other community engagements.
Conduct regular field visits, school visits, meetings with all stakeholders, to ensure steady progress, and identify opportunities of improvement.
Planning and coordinating visits for funders, government officials, and other external stakeholders, to showcase project activities and impact.
Hold weekly coordination meetings with the implementing partner to proactively manage implementation quality.


Curriculum Development Support
Support Program Managers in piloting and refining the adapted curriculum with key stakeholders, ensuring it reflects local realities and contexts.
Lead quality translation work with translators to ensure accurate and culturally resonant Hindi/Chhattisgarhi versions of curriculum materials.
Coordinate the printing and timely distribution of all curriculum materials across schools.
Gather and relay contextual feedback from teachers and students to continuously improve the curriculum.

On-Field Partnerships:
Responsible for maintaining a strong partnership with the implementation organization on-ground.
Act as the point person for the implementation organization’s field team, addressing their queries, supporting in troubleshooting and providing timely guidance.


Monitoring & Reporting:
Work with the implementation organization’s team to ensure timely submission of required records and documents to Girl Rising.
Relay all field-related insights and updates to the internal Girl Rising team.
Facilitate all MEL activities including pre- and post-assessments, classroom observations, and periodic monitoring exercises.

Documentation & Communications:
Ensure proper documentation of all key activities including meetings, sessions and visits to provide timely updates, field insights, photographs and other required project details.
Documentation of stories of change highlighting the impact of the project on all key stakeholders
Qualification and Skills
Bachelor’s or Master’s in Social Work, Education or a related field
At least 3-5 years of experience in project management, field work and similar roles involving direct engagement with marginalized communities. Sensitivity to working with communities from different socio-economic contexts is an advantage
Strong interpersonal skills to engage effectively and build trust with diverse stakeholders, including community members, while demonstrating empathy and respect.
Proficiency in Hindi is compulsory to the role, and a good command in English is preferred. Sound communication - both written and verbal - preferred.
A solution-oriented mindset with the ability to adapt and troubleshoot effectively.
Proficiency in basic digital tools (WhatsApp, Google Docs/Sheets, email) for communication, documentation, and reporting.
Willingness to travel frequently to schools and communities across Bilaspur district.
