Eligibility Criteria
  • Local candidates from Kawardha block will be preferred
  • Candidate should have an open learning mindset
  • Solid knowledge of paddy cultivation is required
  • Intention, ability and stability are the core aspects of selection
  • 2 wheeler vehicle is mandatory
Desired Qualifications
 
M.Sc. in Agriculture and allied sciences or B.Sc. in Agriculture and allied sciences with experience in community mobilisation and FPO operations
 
Desired Skills
  1. Strong community engagement and commitment
  2. Ability to speak Chhattisgarhi
  3. Core strength in agriculture
  4. Well-versed with MS Excel and MS Word
  5. Willingness to work in a rural setup

The objective of this agribusiness development program is to expose candidates to the agricultural business landscape, focusing on sustainable development and innovation in rural agribusiness practices. Our business plan focuses on supporting farmers to practice direct sowing and alternate wetting and drying and emphasising sustainable development and innovation in rural agribusiness practices.
 
Roles and Responsibilities
 
1. Monitoring and Understanding:  
  • Village Dynamics: Gain thorough understanding of the socio-economic conditions, cultural aspects, and community dynamics of the approx. 38 assigned villages.
  • Agricultural Practices: Study and document current agricultural practices, identifying strengths and areas for improvement.  
2. Farmer Engagement:  
  • Trust Building: Develop and maintain strong relationships with farmers, gaining their trust and cooperation.
  • Education and Advocacy: Educate farmers on the benefits of modern agricultural practices, including sustainable farming techniques and crop diversification.
  • Market Information: Keep farmers informed about market trends and fluctuations to help them make informed decisions.  
3. Market Linkage:  
  • Market Connections: Identify and establish connections between farmers and potential buyers, cooperatives, and other market opportunities.
  • Value Addition: Encourage and assist farmers in adding value to their products through processes such as packaging, branding, and certification.  
4. Logistics Management:  
  • Post-Harvest Logistics: Oversee the efficient handling, storage, and transportation of produce post-harvest to ensure minimal loss and maximum quality.
  • Supply Chain Coordination: Coordinate with suppliers, buyers, and logistics providers to streamline the supply chain.  
5. Continuous Learning and Adaptation:  
  • Learning Mindset: Stay updated with the latest agricultural technologies, market trends, and best practices.
  • Knowledge Sharing: Act as a conduit for new information, ensuring that farmers receive timely updates and training.
6. Reporting and Documentation:  
  • Regular Reporting: Provide detailed and regular reports on activities, progress, challenges, and outcomes to the reporting manager.
  • Data Management: Maintain accurate records of farmer engagements, market linkages, logistical arrangements, and any other relevant activities.  
7. Agribusiness Activities:  
  • Diverse Engagement: Participate in and promote various agribusiness activities, including farmer producer organizations, bulk purchase agreements, and integrated pest management.
  • Support Systems: Help in establishing support systems for farmers, such as access to credit, insurance, and government schemes.  
8. Communication and Coordination:  
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Coordinate with local government bodies, NGOs, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment and support for agricultural initiatives.
  • Conflict Resolution: Address and resolve any conflicts or issues that arise within the community or among stakeholders.
