MelJol is a non-governmental organization (NGO) that works to empower children and youth through life skills, social awareness, and financial education programs in schools and communities. The organisation helps young people build confidence, leadership, and a sense of responsible citizenship.
MelJol works with children and youth from diverse socio-economic backgrounds, particularly in government and community schools. Through participatory and activity-based learning methods, it builds life skills, social awareness, and financial literacy among young people.

Its programs aim to equip young people with the knowledge, skills, and confidence needed to make informed decisions, understand social and financial equity, and contribute to building more inclusive and resilient communities
Job Summary
The Project Manager will be responsible for end-to-end planning, execution, monitoring, and reporting of assigned projects, ensuring high-quality delivery aligned with MelJol’s mission, timelines, and donor commitments. The role requires strong project management capabilities, stakeholder engagement, field orientation, and the ability to balance programmatic depth with operational discipline.
Key Responsibilities
1. Project Planning & Execution
• Plan, implement, and manage projects on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis in line with approved project designs and budgets.
• Develop detailed project plans, activity schedules, and milestones to ensure timely and effective execution.
• Ensure adherence to project objectives, outcomes, and impact indicators.
2. Strategic Oversight & Impact Maximisation
• Strategise and recommend improvements to enhance project reach, quality, and impact.
• Identify risks, challenges, and opportunities and take timely corrective actions.
• Ensure projects are aligned with MelJol’s values, child-centric approach, and community engagement philosophy.
3. Team Capacity Building & Stakeholder Engagement
• Train, mentor, and provide ongoing handholding support to project team members.
• Work closely with internal teams, partners, schools, community stakeholders, and volunteers.
• Facilitate coordination among various stakeholders to ensure smooth project delivery.
4. Field Implementation & Facilitation
• Conduct on-field sessions with children, youth, adults, teachers, and other community beneficiaries.
• Monitor field activities regularly to ensure quality, consistency, and relevance.
• Provide guidance and on-ground support to field teams during program delivery.
5. Monitoring, Documentation & Reporting
• Prepare accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual narrative and financial reports.
• Track progress against project indicators and donor commitments.
• Manage, compile, and analyse project and program data for internal review and donor reporting.
6. Budget Management
• Track and monitor budget utilisation in line with approved plans and activities.
• Ensure cost-effectiveness, financial discipline, and timely reporting of expenses.
• Coordinate with finance teams for reconciliations and compliance.
7. Events, Campaigns & Donor Engagement
• Plan and execute events, campaigns, exposure visits, and special project-related initiatives.
• Coordinate and support donor visits, including preparation, logistics, and documentation.
• Represent MelJol professionally with donors and external stakeholders.
8. Communication & Knowledge Sharing
• Share regular project updates, including weekly highlights and major event milestones, with donors and internal stakeholders.
• Provide regular project updates and content inputs for social media and communication materials.
• Document learnings, best practices, case studies, and success stories from the field.
9. Resource Mobilisation Support
• Support fundraising and resource mobilisation efforts through data, documentation, proposals, and impact narratives.
• Assist in developing concept notes and presentations as required.
Qualifications & Experience
• Graduate/Postgraduate degree in Social Work, Development Studies, Education, Management, or a related field.
• 3–6 years of relevant experience in project management within the social/development sector (NGO experience preferred).
• Strong field experience and comfort working directly with communities and children.

Salary: 4,80,000 to 5,40,000 P.A (Negotiable depending on experience and skills)
