IHAT PURPOSE AND PRIORITIES
India Health Action Trust was instituted in 2003 with a vision to meaningfully impact the lives of vulnerable and marginalised people by addressing health and social inequities. The Trust is working towards reducing inequities by developing comprehensive and sustainable programmes to improve population health. Since its inception, IHAT has been working closely with the Government of India and state governments, including Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Karnataka, Rajasthan, Delhi, and Bihar, to achieve public health goals. Our work focuses on areas of HIV and Tuberculosis prevention and control, aiming to achieve significant improvements in Reproductive, Maternal, Neonatal, and Child Health, as well as enhanced nutrition among mothers and children, and strengthened health systems. We use program science to optimise and scale public health programs while partnering with governments and communities. IHAT has recently received a grant to implement the Integration of Post-Partum Family Planning (PPFP) program as a part of comprehensive primary health care (CPHC) approach.
ROLE PURPOSE
The Associate – Program will support the family planning state team in effective implementation of Family Planning interventions. The role requires programmatic understanding of FP, coordination skills, and the ability to develop high-quality presentations and reports. The incumbent will travel to districts as required for supportive supervision and to gather program insights. The position will closely coordinate with Program Leads, M&E, and IEC teams of IHAT to ensure achievement of key program deliverables.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Work in close coordination with the state FP team to support implementation of family planning interventions in the assigned geography.
- Support in collating program updates and developing presentations for meetings with government, donor and other stakeholders.
- Develop monthly dashboards from HMIS, FPLMIS, BCPM-MIS data for review.
- Coordinate trainings, workshops, and other capacity-building activities, including logistics, documentation, and follow-up actions.
- Undertake district visits for supportive supervision, monitoring, and program learning, as required.
- Document best practices, lessons learned, and successful interventions, and support in development of plans for replication in other districts.
- Assist with any other tasks or responsibilities assigned by the Line Manager.
EDUCATION QUALIFICATION
- Graduate in Public Health / Health Management / Social Sciences
- Master’s in Public Health (MPH) / Health Management preferred
EXPERIENCE
- Minimum 3 years of experience in Family Planning / RMNCH+A / MNCH / Public Health programs
- Experience working with government health systems e.g. National Health Mission (NHM) at state/district level preferred

Technical Expertise
- Understanding of family planning program at national and state level
- Familiarity with data platforms like HMIS, FPLMIS, BCPM-MIS
- Knowledge of advanced excel, google sheets and powerpoints
- Experience of working with NHM and Medical & Health department
Conceptual and Analytical Skills
- Proven ability to conceptualize, analyze, innovate, plan, and execute strategies.
- Experience in participating in planning processes and developing analytical reports
Communication Skills
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Strong presentation and report writing capabilities
