UNFPA is the lead UN agency for delivering a world where every pregnancy is wanted, every childbirth is safe and every young person's potential is fulfilled. UNFPA’s new strategic plan focuses on three transformative results: (i) to end preventable maternal deaths? (ii) end unmet need for family planning? and (iii) end gender-based violence and harmful practices. In a world where fundamental human rights are at risk, we need principled and ethical staff, who embody these international norms and standards, and who will defend them courageously and with full conviction.
UNFPA has been a partner of the Government of India (GoI) since 1974 and is now implementing its 10th five-year (2023 - 2027) Country Programme. The Country Programme leverages large-scale government programmes to strengthen maternal health and family planning interventions and promote comprehensive SRH services through advocacy, technical assistance, capacity building and system strengthening approaches through national initiatives and support to State governments in its focus states. Furthermore, UNFPA is a co-convener of the FP 2030 partnership in the country. It is supporting the implementation of the FP 2030 roadmap and action plan at the national level and UNFPA focused states.
The consultancy is aimed to enhance the quality of FP services by building the capacity of healthcare providers through onsite mentoring and supportive supervision. Recognizing that high-quality RH/FP services are critical for improving reproductive health outcomes and addressing unmet contraceptive needs, this project plans to engage experienced technical persons (OBGYNs/MBBS) with clinical experience as consultants to provide mentoring support to health service providers to build their clinical competencies at selected health facilities
