The organization is implementing a large-scale PrEP-related project aimed at expanding access, utilization, and awareness of Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis (PrEP) across India. This project involves overseeing multiple Community Access Points (CAPs) and ensuring effective counselling and linkage to PrEP provide and data reporting to achieve program goals.
Role Summary
The Outreach Worker (PrEP Motivator) will be responsible for community outreach, demand generation, and linkage to PrEP and related HIV/STI services among key populations, particularly MSM and TGW communities. The role focuses on promoting PrEPARED, motivating eligible clients to initiate PrEP, facilitating service referrals, and ensuring proper follow-up and documentation.
Key Roles and Responsibilities
• Promote Project PrEPARED through social networking platforms, community spaces, and outreach activities, and provide accurate information and risk-reduction education on PrEP, HIV, and STIs to motivate eligible clients to initiate PrEP.
• Guide and assist clients in booking appointments at their nearest or most convenient health facilities for PrEP initiation using the project’s online and offline referral systems.
• Support referred clients to access HIV and STI testing services, conduct regular follow-up to track testing status, and motivate eligible clients to initiate PrEP post-testing.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of outreach activities, client engagements, service referrals, and PrEP linkages, and submit regular reports to support monitoring, evaluation, and achievement of project targets.
• Engage with private healthcare providers, clinics, laboratories, and community partners to establish and strengthen partnerships and ensure client-friendly, stigma-free delivery of PrEP and related healthcare services for LGBTQ+ communities.
• Carry out any other duties assigned that fall within the broad scope and mandate of Project PrEPARED.
Qualifications and Skills
• Prior experience in HIV prevention, community outreach, or LGBTQ+ health programs preferred.
• Good communication skills.
• Familiarity with social networking platforms and digital outreach tools.
• Proper working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and work sensitively with diverse communities.
