MAMTA’s journey began in the urban slums of New Delhi in 1990 in the field of mother and child health and nutrition. In the last 30 years, MAMTA has evolved in to a leading, multi-pronged, national level institution that has focused on empowering people and communities; building capacities; forging partnerships and alliances; building evidences on implementation as a science to advance policy and programme investments for health and nutrition of the marginalized.
MAMTA works through the mechanism of direct intervention, community mobilization, health system strengthening, networking and policy advocacy in close partnership with government and public health systems, civil societies, academic institutions, corporate sector and the community at large. MAMTA extends its work in four broad thematic areas:
• Maternal and Child Health and Nutrition (MCHN)
• Youth Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (YSRHR)
• Communicable Diseases (CDs) such as HIV/AIDS, Tuberculosis, Hepatitis ‘B’ & ‘C’
• Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs)
The organization has a strong team of 850 fulltime staff with multi-disciplinary senior and middle management teams. The MAMTA team, along with 136 NGO partners, is driving the health and empowerment agenda in India and across borders. In addition to India, last decade has observed spread of our work as a technical support agency to countries of South and South East Asian region as well. MAMTA is seeking applications for post of Community Mobiliser – For the Health Initiative supported by HCLFoundation with the aim to ensure integrated development of migratory populations in targeted urban slum communities in Lucknow.
The community-based health intervention focuses on identification and management of high-risk pregnancies, strengthening public health infrastructure, digital health initiatives, AI-driven monitoring, promotion of preventive care, early disease detection, and overall well-being along with the capacity building of front-line workers.
Educational Qualifications, Experience & Skills:
• Graduate with a minimum of one to two years of work experience in coordinating health interventions.
• Experience working in the Public Health Sector preferably in maternal health.
• Good written and communication skills in English and Hindi.
• Good computer skills, especially in MS Office.
• Willingness to travel in the field to support project activities.
• Must have a two-wheeler and a valid driving license.
Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct regular community visits to deliver awareness sessions on maternal health, nutrition, and wellbeing, engaging stakeholders such as pregnant women, lactating women, their families, and frontline workers.
• Plan and support the organization of community-based health camps, ensuring maximum participation and effective coordination with stakeholders.
• Ensure timely execution of all planned activities in alignment with project timelines and guidelines.
• Communicate key health messages effectively by adapting approaches to suit diverse community groups.
• Mobilize community members, including women and youth, to actively participate in program interventions and health-related events.
• Strengthen community engagement through regular follow-ups and relationship building with beneficiaries and local stakeholders.
• Demonstrate strong coordination, multitasking, and attention to detail in day-to-day field operations.
• Maintain records, reports, and documentation of activities, including tracking of high-risk cases, using basic computer applications (MS Office).
Required Skills & Competencies:
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to engage and mobilize community members effectively
• Understanding of maternal and child health, especially high-risk pregnancy indicators
• Good organizational and coordination skills
• Basic computer proficiency (MS Office)
• Adaptability and problem-solving skills
