Job Summary
A Financial Linkage Officer is responsible for facilitating access to financial services for rural communities by connecting individuals, Self-Help Groups (SHGs), and small entrepreneurs with banks and financial institutions. The role involves promoting financial inclusion, supporting loan processes, and creating awareness about government schemes and financial products.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and connect clients with suitable financial institutions such as banks, microfinance organizations, and NBFCs.
- Assist individuals and groups in preparing loan applications and required documentation.
- Provide guidance on financial products, including loans, insurance, and savings schemes.
- Build and maintain relationships with financial institutions and stakeholders.
- Support clients in understanding eligibility criteria and application procedures.
- Conduct financial literacy sessions and awareness programs.
- Monitor loan disbursement and repayment progress.
- Maintain accurate records and reports of financial linkages and client data.
- Ensure compliance with organizational policies and financial regulations.
Qualifications & Experience
- Graduate/Postgraduate in Marketing, Financial management or a related discipline (preferred).
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in rural entrepreneurship development, market and financial linkage management.
- Proficiency in English and Hindi (writing and speaking).
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Skills & Competencies
- Proven experience in marketing, import/export, value chain and stakeholder management.
- Experience in agriculture-processed product development, financial linkage process, as we'll as B2B and B2C marketing.
- Ability to work independently and under pressure while meeting deadlines.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize effectively.
- Experience in website management, graphics design, and product design (preferred).
- Willingness to travel 50–75% of the time.
1. Communication Skills
- Ability to clearly explain financial products (loans, savings, insurance) in simple language
- Good listening skills to understand villagers’ needs
- Local language fluency is very important in rural areas
2. Knowledge of Financial Services
- Understanding of banking products (loans, savings accounts, SHG financing)
- Knowledge of government schemes like PMJDY, NRLM, MUDRA loans
- Awareness of microfinance and rural credit systems
3. Relationship Building
- Ability to build trust with rural communities, SHGs (Self Help Groups), and farmers
- Strong coordination with banks, NGOs, and government officials
4. Field Work & Mobilization
- Experience in community mobilization and group formation
- Conducting village meetings, awareness camps, and training sessions
5. Documentation & Data Management
- Skill in maintaining records, loan applications, and reports
- Basic computer knowledge (MS Excel, data entry, mobile apps)
6. Problem-Solving Ability
- Helping beneficiaries resolve banking or loan-related issues
- Guiding them in proper documentation and procedures
7. Financial Literacy Training
- Ability to educate people about savings, credit, digital payments, and financial planning
8. Networking & Coordination
- Working with banks, MFIs, SHGs, and government departments
- Follow-up with financial institutions for loan approvals
9. Integrity & Accountability
- Honest handling of financial information
- Ensuring transparency in processes
10. Adaptability
- Willingness to travel in rural areas
- Ability to work in challenging environments
