Aligned with the WHO Global Initiative on Childhood Cancer and the SDGs, CanKids works toward achieving 100% Access to Care and 100% Financial Protection by 2030. Operating across 22 states, 60 cities, and 141 hospital partnerships, CanKids is the only Indian organization working at grassroots, district, state, and national levels to secure the rights of children with cancer to health, education, pain relief, palliative care, and dignity.

Department Overview

The Resource Mobilization Department drives the organization’s financial sustainability by mobilizing funds, partnerships, and in-kind resources. With a sharp focus on Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), High Net-Worth Individuals (HNIs), Institutions, and Foundations, the team builds strong relationships, executes campaigns, and delivers compelling proposals and reports to secure unrestricted, flexible, and sustainable funding.

Role Summary

The General Manager – RM (CSR) will act as a strategic leader, revenue owner, and systems builder, responsible for driving fundraising growth while institutionalizing robust processes, donor management systems, and data-driven decision-making.

The role will also ensure team effectiveness, pipeline visibility, financial planning discipline, and technology adoption (including VDAN application) to strengthen organizational fundraising informed decision making and capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

1. CSR Prospection & Acquisition
• Proactively identify and engage corporate CSR, PSU CSR, and institutional donors aligned with CanKids’ mission.
• Develop high-quality proposals, concept notes, and business cases tailored to CSR mandates.
• Track CSR policy changes, government notifications, and industry trends to map prospects.
• Build strategic and sector focus partnerships with CSR heads, foundations, and donor boards.

2. Employee Engagement & Workplace Giving
• Design and scale structured employee engagement and workplace giving programs.
• Develop annual engagement plans for key corporate partners (volunteering, payroll giving, campaigns).
• Create meaningful engagement experiences that deepen emotional connection with the cause.
• Track engagement effectiveness and conversion into sustained giving.

3. Donor Retention & Lifecycle Management
• Lead a structured donor retention and upgrade strategy across CSR and HNI segments.
• Institutionalize donor lifecycle management (onboarding to renewal and advocacy).
• Drive donor satisfaction through proactive communication, recognition, and service excellence through impact storytelling, dashboards, and reports.
• Track retention metrics, donor lifetime value, and engagement indices.
• Ensure exceptional post-gift service, positioning CanKids as a long-term partner of choice.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to deliver commitments, compliance, and donor satisfaction
• Collaborate with finance for effective grant utilization tracking and reporting.
• Position CanKids as a thought leader in CSR and childhood cancer care.
• Represent the organization at key forums, events, and donor platforms.

4. Relationship Diversification & Strategic Partnerships
• Expand partnerships beyond traditional CSR into ESG, cause marketing, and global funding avenues.
• Build multi-stakeholder collaborations and co-created program opportunities.
• Reduce dependency on limited funding sources through diversification.


5. Team Collaboration & Organizational Development
• Lead, mentor, and manage a team of fundraising professionals across geographies.
• Set clear targets, KPIs, and accountability frameworks for team members.
• Conduct regular performance reviews, pipeline reviews, and coaching sessions.
• Build team capability in donor engagement, proposal development, and relationship management.
• Foster a culture of collaboration, ownership, and high performance.

· Revenue Growth: Achievement of ?25 Cr+ annual targets with strong pipeline visibility
· Donor Retention: Improved renewal rates and donor lifetime value
· Employee Engagement: Scaled workplace giving and participation across partners
· Systems Strengthening: Fully functional CRM and VDAN-driven decision-making
· Process Excellence: Standardized and efficient fundraising processes
· Financial Planning: Accurate forecasting, budgeting, and cash flow visibility
· Team Performance: High-performing, accountable fundraising team
· Diversification: Expanded funding sources and partnership models
· Compliance: 100% adherence to all legal and donor requirements

Required Qualifications & Experience
· Master’s degree in Business Administration, Development Studies, Social Work, or related field
· 9–12 years of experience in fundraising, CSR partnerships, or client relationship management
· Proven track record of securing and managing large partnerships (?2 to ?5 Cr+)
· Strong experience in team management, systems development, and donor lifecycle management
· Exposure to CRM tools and fundraising technology platforms (VDAN or similar systems preferred)
· Strong financial acumen with experience in budgeting, forecasting, and pipeline management
· Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills
· Understanding of CSR, ESG, and philanthropy landscape in India
· Willingness to travel extensively
