THE POSITION
RAF Global is currently seeking to recruit an Area Manager for its Area Office at Dang, which operates a multi-sector programme portfolio in the Dang district of Gujarat. The Area Manager will lead the Area Team with programme implementation across all the thematic areas in the district of Dang.

S/he will be responsible for coordinating and managing the team in programmatic interventions in the intervention villages and supporting the team in advancing key strategic priorities as approved under the Annual Plan. S/he will also be responsible for knowledge management, including programme documentation, and represent RAF Global on relevant platforms, including engagement with the district administration.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES, DUTIES AND TASKS

Project co-ordination
  • Lead the interventions as planned and approved for Dang.
  • Ensure coordination, along with building the capacities of the team, for the smooth implementation of the key programme interventions.
  • Ensure effective management of programmes in Dang, including planning, implementation and consolidation in close coordination with the team.
  • Manage project execution and field teams (DSMs, Village Facilitators, Consultants, etc.) to ensure targets are met on time with high quality standards.
  • Prioritise assignments as per requirement and multitask as needed.
  • Build and maintain strong rapport with the community, CBOs and other relevant stakeholders.
  • Facilitate coordination and better integration of education, livelihoods, women empowerment, Governance, Health, and other thematic areas at the field level.
  • Ensure high-quality data collection for knowledge management, especially documentation.
Management
  • Maintain the monthly, quarterly, and annual MIS (Management Information System)/report as per the requirements.
  • Ensure logistic support for key internal and external stakeholders, as required.
  • Undertake any other task assigned by supervisor(s).
Planning
  • Support in organising capacity-building events.
  • Support in preparing detailed resource management plans for programmes towards improving the quality of life of the beneficiaries.
  • Support in preparing an action plan for the proper implementation of the activities.
Monitoring
  • Ensure the quality of the programme through regular field visits.
  • Ensure proper selection of the beneficiaries of the programme as per the prescribed criteria.
  • Ensure smooth implementation of the project and quality output
Documentation and knowledge management
  • Develop case studies and success stories for learning and development.
  • Support innovative approaches/processes, including executing pilot projects and deriving new learning insights.
Stakeholder Management
  • Map relevant CBOs, NGOs and government agencies under the project area.
  • Cultivate and nurture effective relationships with key stakeholders (philanthropists, corporates, agencies, government, media, etc.).
  • Liaise with district and block-level government officials for convergence and leveraging resources for effective implementation of the programme.

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA FOR THE ROLE

  • A master’s degree in development-related disciplines, such as Social Work, Rural Studies, Agriculture, Environmental Science/Management, and Development Studies
  • A minimum of 5-6 years of work experience in the relevant sector.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in Gujarati, Hindi, and English.
  • Willingness to travel extensively.
  • A Candidate with a driving license for a two-wheeler will be preferred.
  • Experience of working on Excel, PowerPoint and other basic IT tools is a must.
  • Demonstrates cultural awareness, understanding and sensitivity.

REMUNERATION
Remuneration will be commensurate with the candidate’s qualifications and experience, and will be aligned with the prevailing market standards.
