Role Type: Accessibility Resource Development – Print to Accessible Format Conversion

Overview
Saksham is seeking a detail-oriented and technically skilled EPUB Creator to support the conversion of print materials into accessible digital formats for persons with print disabilities. The role requires strong command over document structuring, formatting, EPUB knowledge, and HTML/CSS.

Key Responsibilities
Convert printed textbooks and documents into accessible digital formats, including EPUB, Word, and HTML.
Structure content with proper tagging, navigation, alt text, and semantic markup.
Perform quality checks to ensure accuracy, readability, and compatibility with assistive technologies.
Coordinate with project managers, proofreaders, and accessibility reviewers to maintain workflow efficiency.
Maintain documentation of conversion processes, version control, and file management.
Support continuous improvement of accessibility standards and internal formatting guidelines.

Required Skills & Knowledge
Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
Hands-on experience with EPUB creation tools and workflows.
Working knowledge of HTML, basic CSS, and document structuring.
Ability to use the internet and email effectively for workflow coordination.
Understanding of accessibility principles for persons with print disabilities (preferred but can be trained).

Preferred Background
Candidates from the publishing industry or digital content production environments.
Experience with book layout or digital conversion processes.
Familiarity with assistive technologies and accessibility standards is an added advantage.

Ability to follow formatting standards and institutional guidelines.

Good English communication skills preferred and willingness to learn accessibility-specific workflows.
