Bodh Shiksha Samiti is a not for profit organization (based out of Jaipur) working in the field of quality education since last 39 years. The organization strives to contribute towards ensuring equitable quality education for all the children irrespective of their socio-economic backgrounds. Bodh also works closely with the state governments to strengthen the public education system so that the quality of education provided to the masses improves and becomes what the national curriculum aims to be ensuring.
Bodh is running 36 Community Schools with the community members. Within the larger organizational framework, Community Bodhshalas play the most important role of not only being a critical demonstration of common community institutions but they are the ground for learning and innovation. They represent actual possibility with the mission of ensuring common effective qualitative learning in children which inculcates the ability of scientific thinking and critical reasoning for the prejudiced traditions of society.
Position Overview
The Senior Consultant – Fundraising will play a pivotal role in establishing and operationalizing a comprehensive fundraising unit within the organization. This role is designed for a seasoned professional who can combine strategic vision with hands-on execution. The consultant will be responsible for building systems, processes, and capacities that enable the nonprofit to secure sustainable funding, strengthen donor relationships, and expand outreach.
Key Responsibilities:
• Strategic Development
• Design and implement the overall fundraising strategy aligned with the organization’s mission and long-term goals.
• Establish policies, procedures, and workflows to ensure a properly functioning fundraising unit.
• Identify diverse funding streams including grants, corporate partnerships, individual giving, and events.
Proposal Development:
• Lead the preparation of compelling funding proposals and concept notes tailored to donor priorities.
• Ensure proposals are supported by accurate data, evidence, and impact narratives.
• Build a repository of templates and standardized materials for future use.
Data Management:
• Streamline and organize key organizational data for fundraising purposes (impact metrics, beneficiary stories, financial reports).
• Develop systems for donor tracking, reporting, and relationship management.
• Introduce monitoring tools to measure fundraising performance and outcomes.
Outreach & Communication:
• Initiate outreach to potential donors, partners, and stakeholders during the early phase of fundraising operations.
• Develop communication materials such as donor briefs, presentations, and newsletters.
• Represent the organization in external forums, meetings, and networking events.
• Capacity Building & Mentorship
• Mentor and guide team members in fundraising best practices, proposal writing, and donor engagement.
• Conduct training sessions to build internal capacity for fundraising and donor stewardship.
• Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and innovation within the fundraising team.
Qualifications:
• Proven track record (15+ years) in fundraising, donor relations, or resource mobilization within the non-profit sector.
• Strong expertise in proposal development, grant writing, and donor communication.
• Demonstrated ability to establish systems and processes for fundraising operations.
• Excellent interpersonal, mentoring, and leadership skills.
• Ability to work independently while steering a team toward collective goals.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Should have contacts with potential FCRA donors, HNI and CSR agencies
• Should have demonstrated experience of raising funds from above
Duration & Reporting:
• This is a consultancy role with an initial focus on establishing the fundraising unit.
• The consultant will report directly to the Director and collaborate closely with program and finance teams.
Impact of the Role:
By the end of the consultancy, the organization will have a fully functional fundraising unit with clear processes, trained staff, and established donor relationships—laying the foundation for long-term sustainability and growth.
